Jumper Cable Recommendation?

Hi all,

The jumper cables for my B&W 685's have disappeared in a recent move. Does anyone have a recommendation for an aftermarket pair that won't break the bank?

Thank in advance.

A couple of inches of lamp cord.

Paper clips.

(4) pieces of 3", 12 gauge speaker wire ought to do it.

anti-jumpers, by anti-cables

http://www.anticables.com/jumpers.html

$25 for a set of 4 (2 for each speaker). you can find them on Audiogon brand new, and i think you can buy them directly from the site as well

all that being said, why do you want after-market jumpers? did you lose the stock metal jumpers that are included?

Yep, he lost them.

I love the $25 suggestion.

How about just cutting 2 inches off the speaker cable you are already using and use that...total cost....FREE

Thanks everyone. I think this is an example of an area where people spend a lot of money for something totally unnecessary. Based on the responses to this thread, purchasing something like these seems completely unreasonable:

Is there an argument to be made for spending $80 on those?

As it turns out, in the new room, my B&W 685's aren't cutting it. I'm thinking I need a floorstanding speaker instead of bookshelves. I was not thrilled with the 685's, they did not handle midrange and bass well at all. Playing the White Stripes or any alternative rock music was literally painful to listen to.

So, I remember auditioning Paradigm Monitor 7's and liked them. Can you all recommend some floorstanding speakers for less than $750? I also have some Mirage floorstanding speakers and like them, does anyone have any experience with the Mirage OMD 15's? I can get a pair of them for $700...

Thanks very much to you all.

Logically no but audio for some isnt about logic.

Love the hype on the website.

"Replace the crappy gold plated brass jumpers on your bi-wired speakers with the custom-made Cardas Jumper Cables for a big upgrade to virtually every aspect of your speaker's performance.

You'll hear greater focus, better driver integration, much wider dynamic range and vastly improved tonality.
"

btw, did you see the slightly cheaper option on the site?

I may have to buy these myself and find out the truth. I have built new speakers that I can bi-amp.

they do.. nada.. zilch. the "performance increase" they have is within the margin of error.

I got a few from a friend and i used them on my speakers. I literally have cut up coat hanger as well... with a blind test my friend who said it increased this sound stage was that and bass was this... couldn't tell the difference.

Of course I already know that but I still like to have all the measured comparisons.

I just realized the OP didnt spend much on the speakers and someone is talking about $80 in clips There is definitely a disconnect in the audio world sometimes.

How could you not trust a company like Music Direct? They sell such wonderful items:

Certainly no snake oil there.

Personally, I think there is more than 1 born every minute.

laughs yes.

I guess that's why so many dealers selling cables and such from all over the world for obscene amounts are still in business.

That's interesting as it reminds me of a DBT some years ago using such coat hangers for digital audio cables with the same results, no difference.

No. At least no argument that is anchored in reality rather than psychosis.
