Does this German firmware work on U.S. PN50C7000/8000 ? I'm really hoping so just for the smooth 24f 3d fix....please let me know

I just tried to do my first and only update last night using a thumb drive. When the C8000 looks for the file it says there are none to be found. I downloaded the files from my Mac to the drive no problem and the Mac says the files are there but the TV says they are not there. Any suggestions?

No. Just plug the USB drive on either port then in the menu select SUPPORT, SOFTWARE UPGRADE and BY USB. The TV will scan the ports looking for the upgrade files.

When I insert the the USB 8000 finds it automatically and asks if I want to upgrade software, I select yes. Then it says it make take a minute to find it and then it says no file found or something to that effect. I have tried both Mac and PC versions, Mac was unzipped as per this thread all to no avail. Am I supposed to tell it that the files are in the USB or does it automatically know that?

I'm guessing you downloaded the firmware update from the Samsung site. There are instructions for the PC as a PDF there also. Are you going by those instructions? I haven't done this in quite some time and I don't recall any problems following those instructions. I only did the USB update once. The other updates I did via the network connection. The PC version has you saving the executable firmware file to the USB then running that file from the USB drive. It is a self extracting .exe that will put a folder with the necessary files on that same USB drive.

Try a different USB key. I had to try 4 before one worked.

I still hace the original firmware that cam installed on my pn63c8000 (1021). Can anyone tell me what I have been missing out on along the journey to 1035?

Check out the first page of this thread for information on the updates. FWIW, I have updated the firmware each time a new version became available and I have never noticed any improvement or degradation. If i remember correctly my display came with 1016. I consider myself fortunate to not suffer the same issues as some other folks and am being cautious with this update. I often wonder if skipping an update or two and applying the latest version could have caused some folks to have problems. I've downloaded and saved this update and will apply it in the future if I so desire. Each time a new version is released some people swear it's a gift from above and others claim it destroyed their display and caused winks, blinks and causes it to whistle Dixie when you turn it on. For the time being I have pulled up a lawn chair and plan on watching the fireworks a bit.

This problem with the "file not being found" after the down load to usb has been going on ever since they release their 3D TV's in April of 2010.

Just another reason that I am glad I returned the TV to BestBuy.

That's unfortunate because you're missing out on a fantastic TV. I have upgraded my 63c7000 probably five times now via USB and never had an issue.

I've been following C8000 threads since last may and that statement is news to me. I have updated via USB without issue. Any display will have issues and some folks will have more problems than others. I love the posts where someone has problems and jumps ship to another brand. If you check their posts after their new purchase you find they have a new set of problems. Some folks are like the peanuts character Pig-Pen. They will be followed by that perpetual cloud no matter what they buy.

So should I worry about upgrading my fw to 1035 on my 8000? I am losing signal sometimes on my xbox through hdmi and would like the new Netflix and supposed judder fix but too afraid to update after reading picture quality went to garbage after updating.

EDIT: I updated, everything works fine, picture still awesome. I don't know why I was under the impression that Netflix got a new UI in this update...it didn't. Still the same. I coulda sworn I read someone say it looks like the PS3's version or something. Oh well.

great. I had no blinking/flashing problems with netflix, now after the 1035 update I do.
