Hi all. I just got the new colormunki design, but havent used it yet. I was now offer to buy an new i1one photo from an old stock. Its from 2007 and havnt been unboxed. Should i return the colormunki? Or should i stik with it?
Have much can the i1 drift in 3 years? The prices is 300£ for the i1photo maybe to much if i had to set it to xrite for recal.
What do you think?

I would also like to know the answer to this.

Did some research on comparing the colormunki and the i1 pro. From a pure technological standpoint (negating price/performance ratio) the i1 pro is still superior. It has a larger spectural range compared to the CM (380-720 vs. 400-700nm respectively). The i1 pro also has the ability to be NIST certified and "re-calibrated" by x-rite for the professional (both of which are missing on the CM). However, both being a spectraphotometer and taking into account the price difference (almost always the pro is at least twice as much as the CM) the CM is awesome. Look at these two comparisions:

The CM was made so that it did not have to be re-certified within the life span of its use. I would definetly go for the CM.

You should read the threads linked in the follow-up message. Unless you're a professional the CM spectros win because they have speed and low-light performance advantages over the i1p that are normally solved by using an i1p with another meter.

However it very much depends on your specific circumstance.

Im going to use the meter for home calibration. to recal my 9g kuro. so you all think i should go with the colormunki and deny the offer from the i1photo.

My hands itz to try the CM

As someone with a 9G Kuro and both meters I'd say if you're only going to get one get the CM spectro. You should read the CM threads though and be aware that the CM is physically a bit harder to use than the i1p due to it's odd shape.

I was thinking of purchasing the same meter. What calibration software (version \\ edition) will you be using ? My understanding is that only CALMAN Home Spectroradiometer edition works with this meter which is way out of my price range.

I was going to use CALMAN Home Spectroradiometer og wait for The HCFR to get CM support. But that could take a while i think. also think the calman is a bit pricy
