Paradigm Center Channels

Hello community! First time poster, long time reader

I have a question, and have found no information through my searches (probably because the speakers I am looking at predate the internet).

I've found 3 great looking centers, but am unable to choose one between the other. All our around the same price (bellow $200).

CC-70 for $75.00
CC-200 for $65.00
CC-300 for $100.00
CC-350 for $175.00

Now, my ability to count tells me the best one is the CC-350, but I doubt it is that simple.

At the moment, matching timbers doesn't matter, because I am buying each piece in increments (but will be going for paradigms aswell).

I'm using them for HD Digital Audio Gaming, Movies, and music.

Thanks for your help in advanced, I hope my questions not too...stupid. I'm 16 and this will be my first speaker purchase (other than hand me downs).

My advice would be to buy the two front speakers first and match the center channel to them.

Ok, I have a similar dilemma with bookshelves then

There's so many models, it's very confusing.

For bookshelves its:

Paradigm Phantoms (Performance Series) $100
Paradigm 3se $110
Paradigm 7se $125
Paradigm Monitor 3 $135
Paradigm Mini Monitors $150

Sorry if this is much.

Hard to tell as those are older models and i have not heard most of them. I have a pair of Mini-monitor v4's and they are great bookshelves.

If you wanted to go new, look into the Mini-monitor v.6 or Atom v.6

The CC-300 is a good matching center to either of the Paradigm SE's, that would be my choice of out of these.

I know this for sure.. thie cc-300 paradigm is a great sounding center channel, I used it for 5 years with all different type's of fronts, and the center always outperformed the front's, I could never afford the matching left and right so I got I pair of boston vr2's and a vr920 and although it sounds good, to me I really love the sound of the cc300..

I actually have a second setup containing the next model down from the Phantoms, they're Focuses version3. If the Phantoms are the same version then they share the same tweeter as my Focus's and the matching center is the CC270. It's an excellent sounding setup and once filled my 14x18 treated home theater with great sound..now they're in my living room... the mini monitors are also very very nice although they match to a different center..can't remember the model.

hi all,

sorry for the thread revival.

I'm also in the same boat as the OP. i'm looking for a center speaker to match my fronts which are Paradigm 3se (mkI's).
The rears are Paradigm Titan (also mkI's).

Would anyone vouch for the cc300? or is the cc350 a better match? I haven't heard either of the center speakers as Paradigms are quite rare in Australia!

Cheers

Michael.

Sliq,

There are some more comments regards the cc-300 at this link:
http://www.angscastle.com/speakers.htm

I get the impression that for the older MK series this center is about perfect.

Locally one came on CL. Caught my eye, but I think that I need to hold out for a 350 or 290 to better match Monitor 7's all around.

good luck to you.
