I'll have to check out the Japanese market releases on my next trip to Tokyo. Might spring for them if I can find them for less than $60 or so.
I recall street prices for blu-rays being pretty close to MSRP, so that meant $80+ for Miyazaki's. Might as well just order from YesAsia at that point. If you can get amazon.co.jp to ship to where you are staying, you can get them for $60 or so. I took that route and had no issues. Even with the free shipping option, I had it within 2nd day.
Although, since you say "next trip", I take it you have been.
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the Hong Kong and Taiwan releases of Nausicaa yet. Those are both Region A, supposedly
with LPCM Japanese audio and English subtitles. I guess we will know in a couple of weeks what the story is with the US release, but does anyone know how the Taiwan and Hong Kong releases compare with the Japanese release?
