Problem Summery: Can't get Inno3D GeForce 6200 to deliver 1920x1080p (Full-HD) Resolution on Samsung LA40B530 Series-5 40 LCD HDTV

COMPUTER SPECS:
2.8Ghz HT Intel Pentium 4
2.5GB RAM
AGP 256MB Inno3D GeForce 6200 (h t t p://www.inno3d.com/products/graphic_card/gf6_agp/6200.htm)
OS: Windows XP Pro SP3
NVIDIA Driver version: 197.13 WHQL (Date: 2010.03.25) (h t t p://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_197.13_whql.html)

CONNECTORS:
24K Gold Plated DVI to HDMI 1.5 Meter Cable
h t t p://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200458062612&ssPageName=ADME:L:OU:AU:1123l

HDTV Specs:
Samsung LA40B530 - 40 LCD Full-HD (1920x1080p) TV
http://www.samsung.com/au/consumer/tv-audio-video/television/lcd-tv/LA40B530P7FXXY/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=spec&fullspec=F

Problem Details:
Unable to get the Full-HD (1920x1080p) Resolution from GeForce 6200 to Samsung LA40B530 LCD HDTV. Currently running at 1680x1050. Both Windows Display Dialog-Box and NVIDIA control panel show that the GeForce Found and Connected to Samsung HDTV. NVIDIA control panel list Resolution 1920x1080p @ 60Hz as HDTV well as 1920x1080 as LCD Monitor. If select 1920x1080p from HDTV Resolution or 1920x1080 from LCD Resolution, color of the display get distorted and the windows start menu bar and upper section of the screen gets outside the LCD Display area. i.e the desktop gets chopped off, and the color gets distorted.

All other resolution works fine, up to 1680x1050. Problem only occurs at 1920x1080p or 1920x1080.

I have tried making/adding various custom resolutions, and tested them out. But the problem still occurs and only seems to occur at 1920x1080p or 1920x1080.

Any idea, what I can try or do to fix the problem?

Thanks.

Your 6200 card may be unpowered to handle two 1080p/60 ports.
Are the displays in clone mode or in extended desktop mode and which dieplay is set as the primary dsplay?
What is the make/model of the monitor?
Are you using the VGA or the HDMI interface to the TV?

You might be right. GF6200 might be under-powered. but according to NVDIA's and Inno3D's Specs page, the card should support 2048 × 1536 at 85Hz
www.nvidia.com/object/geforce6_techspecs.html

Tried it all, as Extended Screen, Dual Clone and Primary Monitor (disconnecting the other monitor completely) nothing works.

Make and Model of the other monitor is:
Dell 17" LCD Monitor runs at 1280x1020 @ 60Hz

I am using a 1.5Meter DVI to HDMI cable to connect PC to the HDTV.

A single output of 2048x1536@85HZ takes a lot less GPU power then 2 1920x1080@60Hz outputs.
Since your have a 4:3 aspect ratio 1280x1020 monitor then you should be sure and not use it as the primary display especially in clone mode since in clone mode the resolution of the primary display is sent to the secondary display regardless of the resoluton you have set for the secondary display.
I suggest you use Extended desktop mode with the TV set as the secconary display and 1080p/60 as the resolution for it and for your PC desktop. And 1280x1020 as the resolution for the monitor. And if it does not work then turn off the motitor and see if the TV will work correctly.
If you are displaying 1080p TV content and the 6200 hardware acceelaration is being used then the GPU power left for output processsing will be less.

SOLVED!!
Renaming the DVI/HDMI Port to "PC" or "DVI PC" Fixes the problem!! Cristal Clear Display on 1920x1080 Res.

Good to read about the solution.
This renaming really is buried in the details of the Samsung sets.
I had run my previous 46" monitor over VGA to avoid this problem.
Finally read about it here at AVS.
Had to go HDMI since VGA flickers with the B8500 panel, forced a resolution.
