Bought the GT720 with 2 DLP Link glasses yesterday at my local Optoma office. I was going to buy the 3D-XL box too as they said they have 2 units of 3D-XL. One as their demo unit and they can sell the other to me. But when I came to their office, they said the 3D-XL is mal-function and can not sell to me. So I need to wait for next batch, which should be around early Dec.
Anyway, so I got the GT720 and 2 glasses. Went back home, connect it with my HTPC (Win 7 64bit, Radeon 5570), set output to 1280x720 120hz. The projector kick in to 3D mode. Fire up TMT3 and play 3D Avatar blu-ray, WOW!!! Looks even better than watching it in a IMAX cinema last year!
The HTPC display card 5570 has both DVI and HDMI output. DVI is connected to GT720 in 1280x720 120hz for 3D video. HDMI is connected to a Pioneer 23TXH receiver for DTS-MA bitstream audio. Great sound and an amazing 3D image!
I will try to mount the projector in the next few days. It will placed around 2 feets in front of my good old Sony VW50.
