Play public arcade so that other players can join and you can respawn. One person needs to always have the canopy between themselves and the barge, which is difficult if you don't kill the therons right away. I had picked up a torque bow earlier and was taking them out pretty well, but it still took us about fifteen-twenty tries to get past that part.

What he said. Sadly when I played on insane/arcade/coop there were only two of us that were live players and that made it a bit tough, 4 live players should have a much easier time. Torque bows or killing the Therons while there still coming down the rope helps. But definitly stay on the other side of the canopy from the barge I would like to tell you the exact spots I went to but thats kind of hard without actually playing it. Safe to say ones you find those spots you should be able to win the level pretty easy.

Same any level with the armored guys, there is one good way to kill them and if you and your coop team cooperate it wont be as hard as it may seem. Centipede thinigies are still a pane though....

So my moderate NAT issue seems to have resolved itself. It said "Open" yesterday and still says that today. This is my least favorite sort of fix because I have no idea why it changed.

The end of Act IV with the armored kantuses and serapede was also a big chokepoint for us. That and the lambent berzerker.

Picked this up for $28. Still haven't finished GOW, lol, but oh well. Are most of you playing the campaign solo or in a party? What about horde mode? I've played horde a couple of times since I'm currently renting it from GF with a 1 month/$1 deal. Really hard on hardcore difficulty.
Playing through the campaign and I've run into a problem- at the start of chaper 3,part 3 "breakneck run" it hits me with "objective failed" right before the the chapter starts. Is this a known glitch and what can I do?

NEVERMIND! I found a workaround. Thank God, I really didn't want to start over from the begining of the chapter.

Did you try quiting the game and restarting that chapter (or checkpoint). Maybe setup an Arcade match for that chapter or the checkpoint of the chapter right before.

OK, so from what I gather, Epic made a change in the recent title update to deal with what happens when the host leaves during a Horde game. The game no longer kicks you back 10 or 20 waves when migrating to a new host, but rather you resume from the wave you were last playing on, which makes sense.

However, based on my own experience, this is only a partial fix in terms of loss of game state. You still lose your weapons, your current base upgrades/fortifications, and worst of all, your current score for the map. That it, it seems like the team score essentially resets when this occurs and any previous score is discarded. Do others share my experience, that this is still partially broken even despite the fix?

Still partially broken, yes, but you keep all of your money and any progress toward unlocking stuff. I unlocked the command center last night, woot!

The host migration in Horde is awful. I have always either lost the game completely when the host drops, or gotten what you descirbe in the second paragraph - same wave but start from scratch with scores, weapons, fortifications, etc. Never had the problem of being kicked back waves. Curious to see if the fix actually makes a difference.

I can't imagine why they'd have such a poor host migration system. The game gets so much else right.

Hi guys - I have an original 20GB XBOX 360 from launch day. Since it has no HDMI I use component cables. I have a 3D TV that takes the component cables no problem.

Is it possible to play GOW3 in 3D mode with this set up? I know "real" 3D (such as frame packed) requires a HDMI connection, but I if my XBOX will output SBS 3D then I have no doubt that my TV will play it back as 3D if I put it into SBS mode.

I tried a few 3D demos from XBOX Live but when I try to put them into 3D mode it says I must have a compatible 3D TV, which of course I do. But I don't know how to tell the 360 I have a 3D TV...

I read that they added an option to the System tab in the DashBoard where you can tell it that you have a 3D TV, but when I go to that area I do not have any 3D option listed. I am thinking that this option may only appear if you have a HDMI connection.

Anyway please let me know if you think this can work and if so how I enable it. Thanks!

Oh Man finally finished the Horde mode with just 2 players on a split screen on Normal mode (All without the help of silverback) as I was sick of people quitting midway or worse case at wave 49!! in one case. Agreed the horde mode is punishing and with the ridiculous penalty for quitting midway for others I just gave up on playing it online.

My understanding is that you must connect via HDMI in order to display 3D and that component cannot transmit such signals. I could be wrong on this, however. Also, are you using a receiver as a switcher? If so, that receiver must be HDMI V1.4a. I have a 1.3 Denon and I need to connect mine directly to my TV.

You should have messaged me or something.
I feel your pain one day some group I was playing quit at level 49!!!! like what the heck. Luckily I have a roomie who likes this game so we have been going at it and finally got the horde done last night. Played with a silver back today and mowed everything for the 1st 25 waves. I would recommend using it if you are stuck at level with a few players.

Not trying to go OT too much, but buy.com is selling 4000 points on ebay for 34.99, while they last. Really makes it easy to get the season pass when it only costs you about $23 ;-). They always go quick, so get them while you can!

Good times playing Horde on Thursday night, Jeff. I've almost got the level 2 Silverback unlocked, and then on to level 3 and the rockets!
Horde Mode on Clocktower is HAAAAAARD I had to kill 2 Bezerkers and only got to level 33.

The quarters are too tight/close - this one takes real teamwork.
Definitely some good games Tom. It's nice to play with a good group of guys. The boss levels are tough on Hardcore, some silverback rockets would come in handy.

Well I kinda agree It easy to mow down the regular folks with the silver back however the Boss Waves are another matter. On wave 20 we took down 2 gunkers midway and guess what 3 more showed up!!! the splash zone down by the Boomshot spawn is very bad. Good thing is if you go up stairs its hard to get splash damage and we were able to kill the 3 Gunkers after taking out the other locust.

Has anyone got this yet? I am anxious to know if it's as great as the trailer makes it look.

I'm just starting Act IV. Absolutely LOVING the campaign so far but having a hard time getting into the multiplayer. It seems to take way, way too many shots for me to take someone out (even with the shotgun) and then I'm taken out at point-blank range with a gnasher every time!
It is kinda sad how the game has (again) turned into "Gnasherfest 2011"...the whiny b!tchboi fanclub complained about damage radius of the sawed-off, and got it nerfed, before that they complained about hipfire damage with the retro...and had it modified...
Both of these weapons balanced the gnasherboi's so they couldn't get as close as they needed to, to accomplish, either the one shot obliteration, or the two shot down...so we have what we have now...
I still get caught up in gnasher cross fire, but my best advice is: keep as big of a gap as you can against the rush.
Retro is great mid-range stoping power (it's my weapon of choice 90% of the time)...but you really gotta watch the wall-bouncer's...it's hard to sight them in, and you can rarely drop to hipfire to down them without getting blown to little bits. Long distance, active reload on the Hammerburst, and Lancer With it's giant clip) is hard to beat...they can down you from accross the map.
I have a hard time in the close-quarters maps like Rustlung...some fool always catches me from the side, around a corner...Not so much on the more open maps, as you can roll back and keep firing to get the down...

Looking forward to Raam's Shadow...
