I stand corrected. Widely available. Must have been an issue with my gorilla fingers on the keyboard. Interesting how much moola they charge for the additional HDMI port. Giving the new receiver more & more thought. My Denon 2808CI only lasted a couple years, wow.

Why is Panasonic not offering a free copy of Avatar to those of us who purchased a DMP-BDT 300 / 350 Blu-ray player between the dates of 1/2/11 - 3/26/11 like they are for those who purchased the DMP-BDT100? You buy a better player, spend more, and get the shaft from Panasonic.

Check the second and third pages of applications - I went in and customized my menu, so that the most often used applications appear on the main page.

Exactly. Although per earlier on this very page there's indication that at least the 300 is still available, these players are essentially discontinued (I'd surmise e- and retailers are selling through remaining stock already on hand). Panasonic rolled these players out last spring, over seven months ago. That's a "long" time in the Panasonic BD player lifecycle.

We've gone from some of us kvetching about the disc only being available to new set buyers, to some complaining about the kit price when it became available via buying the kit and no display, to some saying they got the "shaft" because they didn't get it for 'free' when they bought a player announced at CES . . . 2010.

I think it's logical that they're incentivizing their latest players. I wouldn't be surprised to soon see a similar deal offered in connection with the BDT110, 210 and/or 310 purchase.

I just bought a DMP-BDT100, but there wasn't any mention of a free copy of Avatar. Where did you see this?

Pull up the BDT100 on Amazon and you will see a blurb about this promotion (and a link to a PDF of a form you submit via mail along with proof of purchase to get the Avatar 3D BD).

Bummer! I ordered mine 12/31/2010. I guess I could return it and order it again, but "... because I want to get a free copy of Avitar 3D" is a pretty poor excuse for doing so.

LOL! I landed a deal on a Panasonic 3D Starter Kit for $287 (I believe it was at Amazon.com), and then turned around and sold it off (without Avatar 3D) for just over $200 on eBay.

So I have an $80+ Avatar 3D, and it looks SPECTACULAR!

There's no way currently to tell how much Panasonic charges for the additional port. The 100 does not measure up to the 300/350's performance in any area, except maybe blu-ray PQ. But it's definitely less than the cost of a new HDMI 1.4 receiver.

I've also been led to believe by some that the inclusion of multichannel analog outs materially impacts price, too.


Jan 2 was not even a business day after Dec 31. Worth a go either way IMO. Either submitting based upon current purchase and noting on your receipt the date you actually took delivery of the player, or repurchasing. I suppose it depends upon how much you want the BD.

Yep, totally different. The player that is with the BTT350 is an integrated Blu Ray player/AVR. While the system is a BTT350, it's not a 350 BD player. For example, I don't think it has dual HDMI outs either.

I have a new area of interest. I have the Denon avr 4310ci and the new MIT 75"laservue along with a jvc dla rs 20 projector. My set up is complicated. I recently acquired a panasonic 300 blu ray with 3d. The two hdmi outs on the back do not function the way I would like. First question is can you pass 3d form panasonic blu ray thru the denon avr? I was able too, but there was shadowing still, almost like at 50% 3D. May be it is just my HDMI cable? or maybe the AVR cannot pass the 3d signal 100%? The other question is would it be better to utilize the multichannel analog outputs from the blu ray to the avr so that I can then dedicate one of the hdmi out on the blu ray to my 3d tv and the other hdmi out to the recever(or directly to the jvc rs 20. I want the HD Audio.Thank you. for any suggestion

My Onkyo receiver that I had before the one I have now, passed the 3D Checkerboard just fine with lossless audio no problem. When I got my newer Onkyo receiver, I had to turn off the video processing to avoid ghosting. I do not know if you can turn off video processing on your receiver or not but if you can, it might help.

Do you guys feel the 310 is going to significantly improve upon the 300? The 2D to 3D sounds interesting but not sure how that will truly look.

I saw an open boxed one and if I could get the price down, I might be interested in it. Just wanted to get some opinions.

I think if you can get it for under 278.00 your good to go, I saw this price on product wiki. If this really is going to be the retail price it's still a decent deal. Save you from upgrading your receiver that's for sure.

The specs on your AVR is HDMI 1.3 so no it cannot pass Blu-ray 3D. Thus the second HDMI audio output on your BD player.


Yes that is what it was designed for you have to make sure the HDMI (sub) v.off is lit on your BD player. This will pass the lossless audio to HDMI 2 to your Dennon at the same time passing 3D video to your TV on HDMI 1. I have the same player hooked up to my Pioneer SC-07 and a Panasonic 50" VT25 I've been doing showings of Avatar BD 3D with this player and so far it's been working perfect.

Panasonic has made no announcement that I am aware of whether the 2011 3D Blu-ray models including the DMP-BDT310 player will support the 3D Checkerboard Format. If that is something that is important to you then you might want to purchase the DMP-BDT300.

I think your answer largely depends on your own personal needs/criteria/equipment. Build quality? Probably not as good as the first gen decks. (Superfluous?) features like Skype?

My understanding/assumption is that all Panasonic 3D BD players support checkerboard.

IMO the biggest distinction between the 300/350 and the 310 is that the latter is post-"Analog Sunset." The absence on all the 2011 players of component vid and analog multichannel outputs may or may not be important to you, again, depending upon your own needs/AVR.

I'd gladly trade anyone my 350 for a NIB 310 straight up. I've only watched about 20 discs and I still have the box.

Wow. I bought a 350 and 100 2+ months ago (past the return date). Two 310's would be cool to have for the new features/hardware. Sigh. Waited thinking I had a 'futureproof' 3D TV, found it was not so. No more glasses from Sammy or support. Well we had PC option. Panasonic came and saved us (3D / dual hdmi). Plenty of DLP/IR glasses to tinker with. Panny 300/350 'vanish' (hard to find). Now when you thought you are safe, the tech actually does what it always does improves in less than a year. That is if indeed they support checkerboard. Joys of tech toys...

Too bad I don't think we'll be able to readily get our hands on the 310 until March/April.

Just picked up the DMP-BDT300. Got it for a whopping $87.00 open box deal at best buy, it was a floor model. So far I really like it, the audio seems different to me than my PS3. I had to back down my sub output and overall db levels seem higher. I have not measured this but is it possible that one player outputs higher than another?
