Probably just covering their legal butts but this was just on the local news:

http://blogs.consumerreports.org/ele...ng-lights.html

They also warn:

"Besides more serious issues, 3D TV viewing can cause headache, dizziness, motion sickness, disorientation and eye strain. Taking frequent breaks can minimize the chance of such problems."

Now if i'm going to sit down an immerse myself in a 3D movie, i don't want to stop and take frequent breaks

Seems like a CYA containing an alert that some people may be sensitive. If your kids are doing OK with video games, perhaps 3D isn't so dangerous after all

From that link:
Quote:

"The danger of photo-sensitive seizures, which can be triggered by flashing images or lights, isn't new. The video game industry went through something similar a number of years ago, and games now include a warning on packages."

Without the disclosure: Immediately "Star Wars 3D" is released on BD, at least 10 million fans will sit down to watch Episodes I - VI, back-to-back (some will likely watch the complete cycle twice!) and a number will probably become ill as a direct consequence!

With the disclosure . . . the results quite likely be pretty much the same! But because of the disclose, the putative 'victims' will have a harder time claiming they didn't know it was a dumb thing to do!

Photosensitive epilepsy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Photosensitive_epilepsy

How many people have photosensitive seizure disorders?

Quote:

About one in four thousand people are diagnosed with photosensitive epilepsy. Not all people with epilepsy have photosensitive epilepsy. A person is not considered to have a photosensitive seizure disorder until they have had a seizure. The majority of sufferers’ first seizures occur between the ages of seven and fifteen years old. Photosensitive seizure disorder is twice as common in females as in males and is a function of binocular vision.
