Sorry, Not Listening, too busy laying down tile, and fireplace stone....

I would think people would learn to just pass on this thread, they are not going to tell me what to do with what I want to do, they don't live here, I do.... Muhahahaha...

Way to go, Chadster! Now I feel like I have to come out of retirement and do something, too!

OK, that feeling passed now. All is well with the Universe again.

Brand New LG 55 LHX's new home!! I ran one of those flat panel outlet kits to my Monster Cable Home Theater Reference HTPS 7000 MKII PowerSource with Clean Power, so the romex is not hot until I run a power cable that's in the AV Rack, then I will have surge protect, and power condition....

also check you states and county's building regs, in regards to gas and electrical fixtures and fittings.. building and fire codes must be met...

Since Mystic has not been paying attention, these are MAKING PROGRESS PICS, and really don't require any further input...

Permits were pulled, state electrical inspector was here to say looks great, the City inspector was here to inspect the fireplace with the opening above the fireplace, and the entire basement....

Parts of this build was hired out, so contracts were done, and they have their names on them, in the end, the contractors, the city and the state electrical inspector said, everything looked grreat.....

Where did this " Being a Dick " comment come about? This is my thread on my build, you can stop buy and give some thoughts, but in the end this is my house, and my idea, if you don't like it, then you don't have to post back....

I guess nothing is too good for you, to even say anything like LOOKING GOOD CHAD, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, wouldnt want to say anything nice to someone, you are officially banned from this thread, get lost!

what ever do what you like don't come crying to us when you cook something other than popcorn..

I could never understand the fascination people have with mounting a tv above a fire place and not leave enough room for the tv to expel its own heat while absorbing the heat irradiating from the fireplace, then again in this world there is an idiot born every minute...

all hail your building skills and the gov official that passed your work... wonder if the the gov official has worked in the building industry at all???

by the way great job!!! safety 1st is always my motto!!

Wait - are you saying that you don't think electronics and gas fireplaces don't mix?!? It's so hard to know what you think about this point, since you've only repeated it five times already in Chad's thread.

Or, since you seem to like repetition ...

Chad, Hanes, mystic......

Thanks for the laugh, I had a rough day at work and reading the last few posts made me chuckle nigh full on laugh out loud.

Chad,

Excellent progress keep up the great work. Keep the photos coming, and FWIW I find a nice bottle of scotch really helps grease the wheels of the local inspector. ;-)

Hanes,

Glad to see the urge to come out of retirement has passed. You retired when you were still on top, I would hate to see you make a comeback and flop like Jordan!

Regards,

News FLASH,

Called the fireplace store, they all laughed with the info Mystic posted, as to who ever said such a thing, has absolutely no clue at to what they are talking about, which we already new in the 1st place...

My insurance agent stated that as long as everything met code, and it was inspected by local city inspectors, there's nothing different with regards to insurance, everything is covered...
Seems to be a familiar thing here, to beat someone down if they don't like a particular design someone has decided to do, but to talk trash, and use profanity pretty much sums up Mystic's IQ....

Mr Lang,
If I'm not mistaken, I thought the initial use of profanity was a violation of forum rules?? Where is Mystic's warning on the use of profanity?

Ahhh better yet, just close this thread, then I won't have to deal with a Troll in my thread ever again....

I used to work a couple of blocks from the White House and there was ALWAYS a protest going that would make it difficult to get to work. I had this dream of going down there one day with a sign that said "I HATE PROTESTERS!" on one side an "PROTESTERS GO HOME!" on the other.

OK, now you've done it. Is that actually your lighted shelving?

We're going to have to see more of how you did that. It's always seems simple enough, but there are some older threads that make it seem hard to get that effect. That is the effect I'm thinking about, although on a much smaller scale.

I'd say 40-60 watt party globes encased in a box... or neon lights encased in a box

RGB LED, the colored led's change color buy time, so many seconds, or minutes, or you could select solid color....

Party details will be a month or more away......

Man, that is a fantastic look for a bar. Sweet! I don't think I have seen anything like that before. Can't wait to see some pics of your actual bar.

OK, Been painting, I'm using Sherwiliams superpaint flat Toupe on all walls, and using a flat white on the ceilings, trying to finish up all the painting by this Wed, we are going to install the 18x18 tiles, all through-out the family room, bedroom / workout room/ and even tile the Bathroom through this weekend.....

Hey tsantanni: Here are the pics I was talking about, thanks!

Front of Wall unit, notice the soffit:

Looking from back area, notice the soffit where the PJ will be mounted, 12" from the ceiling, center of the room / view

This view shows looking away from the wall unit, showing towards the sitting area, 13 to 14' away, the PJ would be behind the soffit area:

I'm making a custom insullated pad for the windows, so I can help reduce noice and any extra glare with the window in the back.....

Here is my structured wiring panel, just making a wood door with hinges to make look nice and clean....:

Looks like you used a "orange peel" texture on the ceiling, correct? I really love that finish. I did that for my ceiling as well. They are starting to use a slightly heavier texture of the orange peel on walls around here in some of the new builds. I really like it, changes it up a bit from just the flat expanse of the walls. Like it much better than any of the other textures for the ceiling. Looking good!
