I received my 40C750 unit 4 days ago. There was alot of time for me to test this
Tv. There are 3 Reasons that finally made it easy for me to decide if i should return the tv or not.
The reasons are:
- Very, very uncomfortable input lag. Was around 95ms and 45ms with Game Mode. With Game Mode most of the Image Enhancers are turned off. I like the image with Blur and Judder Filters alot better(with game mode the image is not that smooth)... but the input lag in unbearable. I had a Sony 40Z4500 before, and had no problems in the image retention department.
- Frame Interpolation is flawed.
mentioned..... i also noticed a very odd problem with the Judder and Blur filters. There is a very strange issue in fast moving scenes (both 24p and video sources 25/50/60hz)... At first there is a big annoying stutter and after that it looks like the FPS are dropping at a lower rate for 2-3 seconds... (very noticable on 60hz while gaming without Game Mode or on other Video material).
In my opinion the Samsung FI doesnt work half as good as it should.
Every other screen i had this year handled this alot better.
- Edge Flickering .... when i play xbox or ps3 and there are very many fine lines and small textures on the screen there is a very strange issue while moving... it makes the color suddenly burst and flicker when i start movement....everytime when the movement stops and starts again this flickering occurs.. This is something everyone of my friends i had over noticed immediatly and the only way to work around this is turning game mode on ... i hated it.
I would strongly recommend this TV for anyone who is not gaming alot, because 24p and SD/HD-TV performance is great. Looks really awesome
But if u want to use the Judder/Blur filters i personally dont like the picture at all because of the reasons above (Although on SD/HD-TV material i didnt notice the FI flaws that much). I also like to use FI to play games, because the movement looks alot better... but this tv cant handle it at all doesnt matter if i turn Judder/Blur anywhere between 1-10... the Stutter and FPS drops will stay ... and finally the stupid input lag is horrible.
i guess im going to give the LG LE8500 a shot because every LG screen i had seen so far had a very nice FI..... Not to mention my Epson TW4400 Beamer which has the best FI i have ever seen in any setup.
I would be very pleased to know if anyone else is having the same issues with this tv
Im very sad, because i put alot of hope into this model ..... its very low priced for its features (including the 3d stuff, which honestly i dont need just yet... but nice to have anyway) ... but it seems like samsung cant satisfy the gamers and sharp movement lovers. Very sad
