Here is a good review of this TV;

reviews.lcdtvbuyingguide.com/samsung-lcd-tv/samsung-ln46c750.

I bought thru Dell a couple weeks ago and I am very happy thus far. I have heard of this TV being displayed @ Sears. As for its under-the-radar-status, I agree with what others here have said. Sammy may think it will pull away from its LED models, given the girth of features at a respectable price. I am floored to have found that you can pick-up this model for less than last years (B750) current price.

This one is on my list ! I saw a demo of it at Future shop and the only tv that maybe surpass it is the UNC8000 ! 3000$ for this one vs the 2000$ of the LN46C750.

This TV goes completely black when calling for. Is was amazed by the clarity, detail, black level, white level, everything ! And it does 3d at this price too !
I would probably will go for a refurbished one at 1300$... A steal !!!!

Or if someone can find me a place in Canada ( Montreal ) to find a new model at near 1500$ price range PM me ! Thanks in advance

So I've been trying to decode all 255 IR codes for this TV and I've got about 90% of them figured out. That being said, one of the codes yields a "DMA is not connected" message. When I go through the User's Manual, the only mention of "DMA" is here:
Edit Name
MENUOOm → Input → Edit Name → ENTERE
VCR / DVD / Cable STB / Satellite STB / PVR STB / AV Receiver / Game / Camcorder / PC / DVI PC /DVI Devices / TV / IPTV / Blu-ray / HD DVD / DMA: Name the device connected to the input jacks to make your input source selection easier.

Can someone clue me in on what a "DMA Device" is relative to this tv? Also, what input would a DMA device typically be plugged into?

I will be uploading a URC MX-800 MXD file for this tv to remotecentral.com once I have all the codes figured out and I will post a link to that here in this thread for those that wish to use it. I will also post the chart showing which Hex Code number corresponds to which function here in this thread.

Regards,
Jeff

Answered my own question.

DMA = Digital Media Adapter

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_media_receiver

I don't have one, so I don't feel need to have an IR command that accesses it directly.

Jeff

FWIW, I inquired yesterday about the 55C750 and US release and got the following non commital respone.

"Dear Chris,

Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics.

With reference to your email, we understand that you want to know the release information of LN55C750
LCD TV.

We are sorry to inform you that we don't have the exact time frame when the new LCD TV is going to release.
We are expecting it for the next month.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience.

Thank you,

Samsung Online support."

Thanks for the post Farm.
Right now the 55c650 is $1450 on Amazon and other places, so I'm hoping if they do release the 55c750 it will run around $1700 street price (or less). Would be awesome if it dropped to about $1500 by Black Friday time.

See this thread for a comprehensive list of all the discrete IR remote function codes for this tv.

Hope that helps,

If this set is as good as it should be, considering the make and model, the price makes it a steal. Forget the 3D. Samsung has boxed itself in on price with the LED's which they, also, have to price to sell.

To bad ! I may not been the only one who crave for this tv because according to a vendor at Future Shop this baby is on back order. And this must be true because I checked on ther website and it s back order. I am talking about the 46 inches model not the 55 inches. The guys told me that this model have been sold since 1 month and a half it s the all time best seller !!! In Canada of course ! They cant keep up with the demand . They ordered 200 at first but now they have 600 of them to keep with the demand just for Future Shop !! That s an accomplishment !!!

For some reason I thought the 55C750 would come in at around $1700 - $1900, given the price of the 46C750. However I'm just glad it's finally being released at all in the states.

I guess I'll just settle for the 46" and spend the rest on a PS3. Not a bad consolation prize... lol

Thanks for all the info guys. Here's to the small but mighty LNXXC750 thread...

I went to Best Buy this pm to see a C750. The saleman checked and found that it will only be available on the internet or it could be ordered. As I told him, I want to see it before I buy it.

I'm guessing that is just the starting price and will change. For instance, Bestbuy had the 46" listed for $2,300 !!!!!!! for almost a month when they first put it on their site. WTF. The 46" is now down to $1,400. So crossing my fingers the 55" will do the same.

Not to mention BB is always a few hundred dollars more than places like Amazon.
There is no way they can sell this at the same price Amazon has offered the c8000 LED/LCD and think they will sell well. In fact, Amazon had the c8000 with the free 3d Blu-ray player and 3d glasses kit for $2,500 for a while recently.

I wonder how fast the new ln55C750s will hit other stores. I was ready to pull the trigger on a LG 55lh90 and then this showed up.
Here in Canada there are plenty of them for the 55 inches !

Hi,

I am debating either getting the 55C750 LCD or the 55C8000 LED. Any thoughts about the two models?

I know the C8000 is about $500-$1000 more expensive depending on where you look. Any disadvantage of going with the LCD compared to LED, in terms of contrast, black level and motion handling?

many thanks
Any news on the 55?

I was really interested in this set but will probably go with the Sony HX701 at Costco if it doesnt show up by the end of the month at a reasonable price.

And no, $2495 full retail at BB is not even close to reasonable.

Does anyone know if Samsung has addressed the bad caps issue yet?

Tonight was the first night I played my Playstation on the LN46C750... I have read several things about Game mode... I went into the menu and could not find the Game mode. Any suggestions?
Can someone tell me if this TV does 5.1/7.1 through the optical out? The current samsung tv I have only does true surround sound through optical out with the cable input and not HDMI/component or any other source. I'd rather not have to switch optical cables every time I use a different source (ps3/360/cable box).

Thanks to anyone who is able to answer this question!

FWIW, price has come down a little at BB.

Thanks for the update. Now if it would shave about another $500 off, they might get my money. Come on Amazon/Cleveland Plasma/others

I assume that you have not been able to see this set in a store. Am I correct? Would you buy it sight unseen?

Hi Guys,

I bought my 55C750 last week. The store where I bought it from has a 1 one week return policy and it's almost up. This is my first big screen LCD purchase. I have a Panasonic 32 inch LCD which has been pretty good except I really want a huge TV.

Anyways, here are some pictures of the LCD using my Canon Powershot G4 (ISO200-400,F4,1/8-1'). I've run BYT3's gray images on it which expose uniformity and viewing angle issues. I've also included some pictures I took where I sat on the right or left side of the floor 10 feet from the TV. (Old stand was too small. New stand still hasn't been delivered )

My LCD has a SQ01 panel and here are my observations so far:
- strong back light
- you have to sit exactly in the center of the screen to get the best picture; however the right and left edges of the screen have moderate loss of contrast which is quite evident on dark scenes
- if i sit on the right or left of a 3 person couch, the picture washes out on the opposite side (please see attached picture) Again, I am seated 10 feet away
- looks like there is some vaseline looking coating on the screen which is quite evident
- gaming lag is semi-tolerable since i don't play FPS games
- PS3 3D games have a good effect but I need to play closer to the screen (4-6 feet) to really appreciate

Please rate the images and tell me if there is something wrong with my particular unit or this is something to be expected of 55inch LCDs. With the pictures of the solid gray screens, backlight was set to 2. In the picture of the solid black screen, backlight was set to 10. With the rest of the pictures, it was set to 5. I have set the TV to movie mode and used the following settings:

prs563,
You didn't mention how much tweaking to stock settings you did. Is that with the backlight at default full blast?
