Just heard the Krell S1200U...*drool*

Wow... went to a buddy's house the other day and heard the lastest addition to his home theater setup: the Krell S1200U - freaking sweet! He was coming from a B&K Ref 70 which was already pretty good, but the Krell smoked it! Guess it ought to for $12K!

I'd love to live with that for a while. I didn't get to spend a whole lot of time with it but the little bit I did was pretty awesome. I had to write a quick post about it on my blog. You can check it out here if you like:

Anybody else own this piece? I'd love to hear from those who have actually gotten to live with it for a while. Any glitches so far?

That's pretty interesting that you mention the HDMI sources being pass through only for the video. When I was at my friend's house, we noticed that it wasn't upscaling. I thought it was a glitch.

What did you have before the S1200?

He has a 5.1 setup with the Gold Series speakers from Monitor Audio. The room isn't treated, although he has had the system professionally calibrated. He actually lives in what amounts to a double wide in a 55+ community, but he spends most of his extra cash on A/V because that's what he loves! That'll probably be me someday!
