Ok, didn't want to but I'm glad I did. Went downstairs after I got home from work and finished the stage framing. I love the way it turned out. I was a little worried at first (stage fright) on the end result but, I think I impressed myself! The stage has good balance and goes well with the room. Next step, turn it into a sandbox!

Just got done messing with the Fox style logo program posted by Blazer003. Had fun with it. Surprisingly easy to use. Here is what I came up with.

I'm Baaaaack!! Long time no see. Glad to see alot of you still here. Well, it's been a very long time since my last thread update. Let's see, to make a long story short. We were bit by the Dave Ramsey bug. We are officially debt free for the first time in our lives!! No debt except for the house!!! Let me tell you guys, it feels great!! Needless to say the basement was put on hold. I started back on the main portion of the basement which will mostly be my wifes home gym. Gonna get that bad boy knocked out then move back into the HT and get goin. Ran wire for the recessed lights two of them will be lighting the walls just outside the HT where i'll hang a couple movie posters (see pics). I think it will be a nice touch. I'm hoping to get drywallers in soon. I'm so excited to get going again!! Its good to be back!!

Glad to hear that you are at least among the living. Awesome about the Dave Ramsey program. I have known a couple of people who have done that and they don't regret it one bit. Congrats.

Looking forward to seeing you continue your journey.

Regards,

RTROSE

Hey guys. Been real busy with the main portion of my basement. I decided to contract out the drywall work and they are slated to start this Friday. The good news is the finishers will be here Monday and they are going to mud, tape and texture the theater ceiling as well!! Can't wait!! Ordered my baffles for my lights and they should be here late this week. I'll be painting the ceiling flat black and installing black stepped baffles in the cans. I'll keep you all posted on the progress. Here is a pic of the ceiling now.

Wish you the best on your project too. Here are a few pics of the progress. Got to get this room done so I can give the HT 100% attention.

The good thing is those two years you took off had decent strides in the projector market. The average PJ now is just excellent bang for buck!

Pics as promised!! Ok guys, been busy with turning the white ceiling into a flat black masterpiece. Puchased 1 gallon of primer and 2 gallons of flat black paint at the local box store and jumped right in. Took a little longer than i thought it would but, it came out better than I anticipated. Next was to paint my can light trim rings. The trim kit for my lights only come in white so I had to rattle can them. I purchase a can of Rust-oleum Ultra Cover. The trim rings are plastic and the can said it worked on plastic so, I gave it a shot. Let me tell you, this stuff is fantastic!! Nice fine spray, even coverage and fantastic finish!! I knocked out the HVAC register and the Halogen trim as well. Now the ceiling is complete!! Of course pics will never do it justice but, trust me, the results are awesome!! Enjoy!!
