WD-65831 with blurry out of focus? on the right side

i just bought a WD-65831, and i didn't see it when i bought it but once i got it home i saw that the right side, kind of the middle, and above middle right side is kind of blurry, and seems a bit to bright. i searched the forum and found the "official users guide" for this tv...i did the recommended settings but it is no better. also noticed a lot of talk about the light engine going out on these however mine doesn't really have blocks around lettering, it's just the blurry/brightness on the right side. any ideas? heres photo's, keep in mind they've been optimized.

Nice pictures, but it's hard to see what you mean. A picture of color bars or a bunch of text like in the cabletv guide might be better. Same on all inputs?

Have you considered it might need aa simple cleaning first, of the main mirror and main lens? Are you up to taking the front of it apart? From simply looking at the openings in the back, does it look dusty? Does it smell like cigarette smoke? Have you searched the internet for a free Service Manual to show you how to take it apart? (Different from an Owner's Manual)

Is the screen in place? If you set a straightedge across the front of the tv, does the screen appear to be parallel everwhere to the plane of the front of the tv? Does the screen seem loose in its tracks anywhere?

DON'T attack it with canned air, whatever you do. Don't use any commercial cleaning products on the inside of the tv. The lens is delicate plastic, and the main mirror is a thin film of aluminum on glass.

Definitely hard to see with these pics.
There are internal test patterns stored in the light engine that can be used to troubleshoot video problems. When in the service menu try not to make any changes to data values.
PRESS 'MENU' then '2'-'4'-'5'-'7'
You should now be in a service mode.
PRESS 'REWIND' to activate the test patterns.
Every time you hit 'REWIND' you will get (cycle) a new test pattern.
Go thru these and see if you still have the problem. I find that the gray-scale patterns usually reveal video problems the best. A problem here usually means a bad Optical Engine. If that was the case, I would try resetting all data values back to factory settings. But, first things first. Try the internal test patterns. If no problems are found here, it could be a board or connection.
Please let us know what you find.

yeah it is hard to see what i mean, in the last photo it's the clearest of all the photo's....he's blurry and out of focus but Shouldn't be.

i've already cleaned the mirror/screen/main lense. the screen is properly installed.

ok here are photo's of the test screen's. the right side is brighter than the left and not as in focus. are there settings that can be adjust in the service menu's to adjust the brightness on one side or the other of a screen, and focus levels?

Are the defects present in the test patterns? I cannot see enough detail from the pics on my computer.

well there aren't really detailed things in the test patterns so, it's not highly visible but it is somewhat visible just in the colors....

If the defect is showing in the test patterns, the problem is in the screen, mirror, or optics. Since the set is new, I would either exchange it or call for service. Sorry we couldn't nail it down any closer but with a new set you don,t want to do anything to void your warranty.

it's not new... it's new to me but it's used. the screen, and mirror look fine, and i have cleaned them.
