The lack of content is what holds me back, despite being able to buy the 65" VT25 direct from Panasonic for $3225 through my employee discount program. That, and my just-a-year-old 60" Kuro which is going strong and has a stunning picture. The new tech (as always) tempts, but that lack of content thing is pretty big right now and I wouldn't play games on it - I have a computer for that. Just being able to get it at a good price (relatively) has its temptations though, along with a similar deal on the 3D Blu Ray player.
The age old tech version of chicken-and-egg always stymies the mind: player with little content, but content may not grow if players don't sell, and players don't often sell with no content. It's a hell of a $3000+ bet and that price range may be the difference. The 50" is much cheaper, but having the Kuro kind of negates going backwards.
