Vote for VA-API support in Flash

If you haven't done so already, then please vote for this: http://bugs.adobe.com/jira/browse/FP-3146

VA-API can use several hardware-acceleration backends such as VDPAU, and it is really the best choice.

I think that if we get enough votes and comments over there then Adobe might actually take us seriously.

Thank you!

Thanks for the notification. I just submitted a vote for this and will be bugging others to do so.

I bet Google (owner of Youtube, the highest profile Flash video site on the net) could assert some power and influence to compel Adobe to do this, and/or provide resources (developers, money) to implement VA-API for Linux Flash...

...whose gonna raise the issue with Google?

They'll just tell me to use Chrome.

I thought I heard something about them wanting to move Youtube away from Flash video. Did I imagine that?

Also, thanks, brian, for resurrecting this thread. I had completely forgotten about it.

FWIW Flash 10.1 does seem a bit better on my hardware. I run Midori in my theater for online video like www.revision3.com. The older version had annoying "flashes" in full screen mode which appear to not happen with 10.1.

Attempting to register so I can add my vote....
