Pioneer DEH-P6200BT not displaying CD info

I use WMP 11 to rip my cd's in .wav format. I can see all the CD info in WMP 11 but when I when I play the files via a USB flash drive the Pioneer doesn't show the info. It just says unkown. Pioneer support wasn't any help.

The CD format and .wav are 2 different things.

Part of the CD standard is for a player to be able to read certain info on the disk with regard to song title..artist...etc. There is no such standard governing .wav files.

FWIW... my jvc will not display all of the info on a .wav file either (although it will at least display the name of the file).

So I'm assuming Windows media player makes it's own file for every CD I rip separately from the .wav file and when it sees the .wav file it puts the info with it? If that is the case I wonder why all the info isn't put with the file when playing back from the flash drive using wmp.

Once again there is no standard with respect to the format for names/info with wav files. This doesn't mean that a given program can't give a name/title or particulars... it simply means that it doesn't have to.

In the case of WMP... it creates libraries for its own purpose. But a wmp library can't be used in nero... or some other player.....it is only good for wmp.... because there is no standard in the way that there is for CD's

Any cd player can read the title info because there is a set standard for the formatting of the info libraries to be formed

Update. The info doesn't show up when playing the first track. When playing the second and subsequent tracks all the info is there including artist and genre. So I'm assuming it's a player issue.
