I just switched from DirecTV to Uverse. The picture is fine during regular shows, but during sports.. its horrible. I have a Samsung 52 LCD b750. Direct was ok but i kept hearing so many good things about Uverse. Now im regreting it. Does enyone know if there is something i can do, settings, ANYTHING?
thanks

I'm no expert, but from what little I've seen of UVerse at my friend's house it was overly compressed. I saw a lot of macroblocking(?) and it just didn't look all that great. Sports should require a higher-bitrate and it probably isn't there.

Yup, it's Uverse. Bungle is right, Uverse uses a low bit rate, thats why you see pixelation and macroblocking, on sports and fast movement. I tried Uverse and i immediately went back to Directv.

I don't know where you guys live, but U-Verse in Indianapolis is fine. AT&T ran all new fiber optic cable in our neighborhood and the HD on U-Verse is a heck of a lot better on HD than Comcast was.

Last weekend, my brother-in-law from Michigan (who wishes he could get U-Verse) watched me toggle back & forth between U-Verse and my OTA (Over The Air) antenna and he said the U-Verse picture looked better than the OTA one. Both were in HD and I was watching the same NBA game on both. There was NO difference & sports look great as do all other HD programming.
