Problem with initial forum check in?

Recently I noticed that when I turn on my computer, open Internet explorer and open my favorite page to AVS and try to use the 'Forum Jump' feature, it takes forever for the selections to show and to select where I want to go.
This problem doesn't happen on subsequent navigations via the Forum Jump feature as long as I am at AVS. But, it reoccurs when I close IE, don't shut computer off, reopen IE.
Any ideas?

The forum jump is a large list and needs to be loaded into cache. So I am guessing browse settings. It also can happen with old computers with low ram or slow processor. But I am guessing brower setting.

Side note...try Firefox.
