Haven on Syfy-HD - Page 8

This latest episode was just unbelievable. I am literally on the edge of my seat wondering where all this is going. Parker and William connected!!! eek.gif

What a great twist.

Maybe ... we'll see how it plays out. I have a bad feeling we're either going to get some "genre" cliche resolution a/o some attempt to tie this all to "native american" mythology (whether actual or invented.) Being that "Mr. King" originated the story in print form, the odds favor the latter option. (I haven't read the book.)

Deus ex Machina either way ... perhaps literally in this case. wink.gif

Resolution ? I see a standard Skiffy "to be continued" sign coming.
And, of course, King likes to leave his books open-ended.

I agree completely. I was wondering where the time went when it was over, and how long until the next episode. Everyone in the alternate universe was funny/different--especially Dave. This one even took William by surprise! AND, I don't trust a word he said about them deliberately starting the troubles.

You can't trust anything William says. Loved the episode. This season has been great.

Anyone watch the season finale?

On a forum that my wife follows it appears most people did not like it. And nether did we.

For me, it's gotten too far off it's original premise.

Even though I don't usually like cliffhanger season finales, I thought the Haven season finale was a good one. I was really looking forward to seeing Colin Ferguson from "Eureka" on the show this season, but man am I thankful he is now gone. I thought he would be a good guy. Turned out, not so much. eek.gif

So, are Mara and William a witch and warlock torturing people just for fun? They should have tossed them BOTH in the hole, pit, door or whatever it was/is.
I couldn't really tell by the look in Audrey/Mara's eyes why she wanted to get William back. Was it Audrey speaking so that this would help Duke & Jennifer? Or was it Mara speaking because she just wanted to be with William.
I don't know, but they did keep warning that what would come through the door would be worse than what went back.

First order of business - get the box of magic tarballs away from Mara!

Could be both but my 1st thought was that it was Mara's persona speaking.

Liked the finale, and as far as getting away from the orig premise, one has to wonder how long curse-of-the-week eps could carry the show. I kind of like the idea that Audrey is really some prankster-evil alien-witch-demon from hell looking to have some fun at our expense wink.gif I didn't watch much of Under the Dome at all, didn't like the way the show was done, but my limited understanding is that its original premise from the book was aliens put the dome over the town to screw with humanity and see how we reacted. maybe in some off-hand way, this is a similar thing, even though show Haven and Colorado Kid King story are not that tied close.

I think the key question is what the gateway really is and who these characters really are - gateway to hell, another dimension-parallel universe, or alien world. take your pick....maybe we'll find out next year wink.gif

Sure looks like we're heading towards a fallen angel causing mischief not wanting to return to hell story.
^^
based on Dave's reaction refusing to go in, some form of hellgate looks very possible. and the Barn could be purgatory, so Audrey can do penance every 27 yrs. maybe William will be another Pinhead wink.gif

I have not read where HAVEN has been picked up for a fifth season. I would hope they do and not let us end on a cliffhanger.

This article indicates it is coming back, but I haven't seen anything official yet.

http://sciencefiction.com/2013/12/13/abc-prepping-new-series-grand-central-based-stephen-kings-short/

"Once upon a time made for TV movies by Stephen King might have caused many of us to groan (and not in the suspense that his novels did), but lately that’s changed. With the success of SyFy’s ‘Haven‘ (which will be entering it’s forth season in 2014) and CBS’s ‘Under the Dome‘, clearly his work is doing well in an episodic format. With ‘Haven’ having been so successful it shouldn’t be a surprise that its writers, Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn, are involved in this project as well. As a side note, they also had co-written 2 episodes of USA’s Stephen King’s ‘Dead Zone’. They clearly enjoy bringing his work to the small screen."

Spread over two years. Not really "one" season in my view.

Hope they don't waste several episodes leading up to, and then following, the break between years. (I think Sanctuary once did two "nothing happens" shows leading up to a cliffhanger, then took 3 episodes to resolve it when they came back)

So glad to hear of this renewal. This seems like it is actually two 13 episode "seasons". biggrin.gif

Whatever, glad it will return.

It starts in the fall ... ( 2014 ) & 2nd half in 2015..
That could mean either Fall 14 / Spring 15, Fall 14 / Summer 15, or even if it's Fall 14 / Fall 15 (doubt) .. It still wont be spread over "two" years, probably 1 ....

reads like what they did with BSG - "0.5" seasons

Man....you're in for a fun ride.

While you're at it, have you seen Caprica and Fringe?
