Haven on Syfy-HD - Page 4

I REALLY like this show! I hope the rev is really gone. Because you just never know what with the troubles and all.

I like this show, too. It has grown on me. I thought it was pretty quirky in the beginning, but once the characters and relationships were established, it got pretty good.

It's encouraging that SyFy has kept it on the air. It's one of the few things I watch on SyFy. Now that I think about it, probably the only thing.

I remember when SciFi was first picked up on our cable system years ago. I was very excited, but it has since been a real let down.

I agree with everything you wrote. I have grown to quite enjoy this show and the characters. Always hated the Rev...

p.s. You should give "Alphas" a shot on Syfy if you haven't already (Season finale is next week, so it may be too late if you haven't already sampled it).

+1 to both
I like the characters and interplay between them.

After SG-U got the boot, there's nothing left I want to watch. And Sanctuary was getting stale.
I tried W13 since ep 1, hung with it for a number of episodes but for some reason, just couldn't get into it.

I'm definitely hoping Haven gets renewed for a #3. I must be troubled

I did try Alphas but I just had this feeling of "been there, done that" that I couldn't shake.

Also, the guy who was a part-timer in House gives me the willies...

Last year they announced the season two renewal in early October so we may have to wait a few more weeks. BTW, the 13th episode is a Christmas one and will air during the holidays.

No to nit-pick, but he was a part-timer on Bones, not House. And, NO, it makes no difference really.

Many on this thread have said that they think Gary is a very good character. He does get tiresome after a while sometimes. I guess it depends on your level of tolerance to rain-man types.

You're right! He was Nigel on Bones. Now that's a show I like! Emily Deschanel. Woo-hoo!

Looks like the show is accelerating towards the finale, either we're going to get a lot of things resolved next week(the season finale) or we're going to be left hanging. I really hope this show get renewed, because I'm suspecting we're gonna be left hanging in the season finale.

Well, we were left hanging I would say Here's to hoping they renew for at least one more season, I really enjoy this show. It has really grown on me over the two years it's been on. We at least get a Christmas special, but I doubt it will fit in the timeline, the previews make me think it will be like last year's Warehouse 13, just a Christmas episode that won't resolve anything, just a filler episode of sorts.

Looking forward to Sanctuary, hoping it will improve over last year.

+1 on both shows. Haven really grew on me too
I really like the characters & acting even if the stories are Fantastic with a capital F
As long as it gets renewed, the finale was A-OK.

Sanctuary was starting to get old last yr, especially when they tried the romance angles. I'm glad to see this season open with Adam Worth again. Hopefully, they'll make it the prime plot focus this yr.

I think this show just keeps getting better and better. The development/mystery of the three main characters play off each other very well.

The biggest problem *I* hve with Haven is the number of people who have died in the "small town". Like so many little towns in TV land (Cabot Cove) there are an unusual number of murders/deaths per capita. It is impossible for me to imagine that anyone in or around Haven does not know about "the troubles," and hasn't been touched by the strange deaths. The population must have been reduced by a significant percentage by now. Still, it's engaging.

Excellent news! Something to look forward to on SyFy

I really like this show. I don't know why this show appeals to me & Terra Nova has been a total bust IMO. Maybe it's the quality of acting & interesting characters?

Dinosaurs alone don't make the show, Steven

Great news for us Haven fans!

Brand new Christmas episode on Tuesday 12/6.

When that popped up in my recording list, I thought it was just another FIOS guide glitch (of which there are many). Of course, the episode recap is the generic one and is not episode specific, but it will be great to see another episode while the show is on "break".

Set to record

OT, but for some reason, Sanctuary isn't getting any posts since the start of its season. I'm watching but have to admit it's getting stale.

I gave up on that show a long ago and if haven does not improve I am going to cancel the season pass.

Well, I wasn't overwhelmed with the premier tonight. Looks like we are gonna get into the Colorado kid angle a lot more this season, at least that is what they are teasing us with. Not sure about the alien angle tonight. Still glad to see the show back on the air.
Is this the last season? That's usually when they say that everything will be revealed.
Argh! The DVR usually finds shows I had a previous series record on as it it with "Warehouse 13" and it didn't with "Haven" but it is available OnDemand too.

Was I the only one who thought the characters seemed a little different in this first episode? We re-watched last season's finale right before this season's opener to refresh our memories and I noticed what I thought were differences right away. Duke is usually a tough guy smart alec with gritty sarcasm, but this episode his comments seemed a little on the goofy side. Audrey is usually tough as nails who can handle anything that is thrown her way, but in this episode she was scared and cried.

Does anyone know if writers, directors, or producers have changed? Hopefully it was just an anomaly and everything returns to normal next week.

Well, at least it wasn't real aliens, just a figment of the kids imagination.

I kinda view Haven as where the government sends all the "mutants" that aren't good enough to join the X-Men.  The troubled are very much like mutants that can't control their powers.

Haven has been my favorite SyFy show since it began, but I feel they have ruined it this season. They turned Duke into a buffoon, the other characters just don't seem the same, and story-lines just haven't been the same. And who in the world is this psychiatrist that just shows up and knows all about the troubles?

I am so disappointed.

Am I off or does anyone else see this too?

I pulled the plug halfway through the episode. I'm finished.

Dogs turning into people was a bit far out there for me also - but I'm sticking around for awhile.
