What is the detailed list of differences between to lf and lfu versions? So far the only evidence is it weighs 200 instead of 177. So more internal bracing... What else?

Lower horn load fq.

Oh that's a desirable feature I would think? Do we have outdoor graphs of the lf and lfu compared?

Jeff was kind enough to throw it in at no cost!

The shippers told me that my delivery might be late a day or three due to the Colorado fires so maybe next week.

So differences on lf and lfu are a slightly lower horn load frequency and more internal bracing? Any other differences?

Jeff has the frequency responses right there.

Slightly larger with longer horn path "to be used upright to save floor space". Same driver and amp. Dsp probably altered for the little bit lower tuning and native frequency response differences between different horn lengths and thats pretty much it afaik. Could always contact jeff at jtr as others with experience with both and compared at same time are probably few and far between.smile.gif

Nice! Thanks Luke! I didn't realize the jtr site had a forum. Those are some crazy numbers on the lfu graph!

They are some serious subwoofers no doubt. A pair was intense at the kc shootout and caused damage to tile floor as well as other items.cool.gif

I believe jpowell has a 15h. Dual orbit shifters would be comparable in my estimations to 12-16 15h subwoofers in output.eek.gif

Yeah I think a bunch of tiles from the subfloor above we're cracked from dual OS! eek.gif

Yes a single 15H. Basically everything I bought as my first HT setup is good midline stuff or excellent to most American families. But I know there is more. My theology is to just go directly to the top with everything. Dual OS's or like subs, perhaps JTR 12's down the road, processor, amps, everything. All built in a dedicated sound proof constructed room. But this will take me years as I certainly don't make the kind of money as some projects show on avs...the fiancé did just start in the medical field. But just starting...but I think the journey is as much fun as the finished product. But I'll go ahead and cut out all the upgrade purchases and head straight to the top with each one. smile.gif

Ps: I do have two little 10's with 300 watt amps in my DT powered towers! But I cross em at 80...they will make good non dedicated room speakers down the road...

Not knocking any of your gear ( i have two 15h). Just some perspective into what you are getting into with dual os. Jeff has a great lineup utilizing a nice 18" in horn, ported, and sealed depending on needs desires and goals for output and extension. Personaly after experiencing the dual lfu it was more raw >20hz than i would ever use watching a feature film and would go with s2's. Those looking for some no holds bar output or a very large space look no further. Options are nice!cool.gif

Oh no worries. I welcome any advice or constructive criticism. It's all on paper now. But I plan on demo season around the turn of the year. I have dual and quad Submersive demos and RMK has given the option to see his dual OS's. Now if i could find dual cap S2's... so we will see in person. I'm interested in the sonic signature of each as it seems we can easily get caught up in numbers and forget how each sounds. Honestly for aesthetic purposes I hope the Submersives or caps grab me. But I have a feeling the horn design is what I am looking for...

Movie night with the kids tonight so I'll get to see it in action. I was fully aware of how big this thing is I just never factored in the width which is what makes it monstrous for my application. The wife said she's just going to pretend its not even there haha

Oh the grill is wonderful, the cats can't nest!

Man the look on your wife's face the very first she saw that monster would have been priceless! Lol

I'm sure all you'd have to do is turn that thing on if your cats went into it and crank it up! I'm sure doing that once would keep them away from it for the rest of their lives!...lol

What's on the radar for your LCR, if you don't mind me asking?

It's incredible. The first movie I watched, the new die hard, had so much impact. I kept looking out the glass part of my front door every twenty minutes expecting cops to be knocking. As people have said before, the os is effortless in what it does. Pretty sure my ears would burst before it ever ran out of steam.

I tell it to my friends like this: I have a friend that tells me the os is crap. That it is a louder version of my bic in that it will only play 35hz or higher (I'm not agreeing with this claim). He is a strong advocate of the DIY route, I'm not because the last thing I want to do when I get home from work is more work. So what I tell people is this, 1 out of 10 people will appreciate a sub that can play flat to 10hz because the other 9 don't know what the hell it is. 9 out of 10 people will appreciate spl because everyone knows what loud sounds like smile.gif

My wife wants me to get the Martin Logan montis because she likes the way they look and sound.

I want the JTR noesis 12 or the seaton catalyst 12 but my wife doesn't want more box shapes next to the already huge box shape in the living room corner.

My wife wants another puppy so her current puppy isn't an only child.

I think I'll end up getting the LCR of my choice biggrin.gif

Oh yeah, with your technique... The LCR of your choice is in the bag.

Can you show us a picture the OS in it's permanent location?
