I can't find the Icon X in a store to listen to. However I can find the W's. Are they close in sound? Klipsch says that the X's have a little better frequency range.

They've been on sale for weeks.. and many times since last year.
Same thing when they placed B3s there "just today" weeks ago, I jumped in to start building HT but they are still there, and B3 lying unopen.
I was really itching to get 48s but talked to them and decided to hold for now. BTW, you may negotiate with them.
Same problem, can't auditon much in my town...

I bought the 48 from Vanns in December. I love them. It'll be hard for you to test them....unless you can find a bestbuy that still as demo units on sale.

Can i suggest something else, the sweedish brand XTZ, often prefered over Klipsch and B&W in Europe. Tests have shown that some of the moddels they have are better than B&W's simmular models at 3x the price.

Look at
www.xtz.se/uk
They are realy inovative, listened to their most expencive shelf model "99.26"(aprox 1000usd's with tax) and it sounded better than my Monitor Audio GS20's that i pay'd 2000usd's for.

If not i'd go for the Klipsch =)

You might get a better idea if you review postings about the Icon series in the Klipsch owner thread; it would also be a better place to post specific questions regarding the comparison of different Klipsch Icon models...

Thanks everyone for the help. I have decided to go with the following setup:

Receiver = Onkyo TX-SR608 7.2Ch
L/R = Definitive Technology BP7004 or BP7006
C = Definitive Technology CLR2002 or CLR2300
LR/RR = Definitive Technology BP1.2X or CLR2002

I have found a good deal on a set of refurbished 7004 and if I can work it out I will get this in lieu of the 7006.

Thanks again everyone!!!
