just got my 55LX9500, but it may have issue. just got it yesterday, unpacked it and ran into a couple of "issues".
1. the directions said nothing about the plastic piece that sits between the pedestal itself and the tv mount. the plastic piece was just there when i took everything out of the box. i actually mounted tv to pedestal without that plasic piece, but the square back cover didnt fit so right, so i then looked more closely at the plastic piece and it seemed to make sense it should go between the pedestal and tv mount. only odd thing there is that with plastic piece there the screws do not seem to thread in very far, and, the casting of the tv mount does not provide a nice even recess for the screw heads, the screw heads seem to only clamp down onto the casting with about half the screw head. that seems odd.
2. my set did some odd things right after i powered up. i went into menu and changed the audio setting, after making the change the tv seemed to do a "reboot", powering off then back on again. then as i watch the tv it would suddenly power itself off. i would power it on with remote and then a few min later the tv powers itself off. now it gets even stranger. i leave tv off and place remote below tv under the console shelf. a few hours later my wide moves the remote and the tv turns on, but she says she did not press any remote buttons. possibly a sticky on/off remote button?? i chat'd with LG support and they say this is all not normal and the set needs servicing. they set me up with Precision Television in Maricopa AZ. in talking with them on the phone i am not certain i will let them touch my set, they wanted to order parts before even looking at the set.
anyways, originally i wanted a 55LD650 but after 3 online vendors failed to complete a sale on a product they advertised as being in-stock, i decided to just get LX9500. i have not yet tried 3D as i do not have glasses (which i thought every LX9500 came with two), and i dont yet have blu-ray player (working on both though).
... and to AVSforum, i know this is a old thread, but i didnt want to start a dupe thread in this forum, etc, this one was already named "Lg 55lx9500"
