There's really no such thing as too much subwoofer (within reason, of course). The STF-1 is a fine subwoofer, but the STF-2 will give you more output and better low-end extension. The extra output isn't a real concern in a room that small (though it doesn't hurt either... if it's too loud, just turn the volume dial down), but lower extension is definitely a good thing. Plus, the STF-2 will do better if you ever need a sub for a setup in a larger room in the future.
The only downsides to getting the STF-2 would be the $50, of course, and the larger size. If those aren't a concern, getting the package with the STF-2 is a no-brainer.
