+1. Thats why I jumped on the open box RS10 when it was available. It was cheaper than the Epson , and with zero issues.

Yea having to swap out projector several times would be a deal breaker for me!!

The LCD's are meant to meet a price point and that they do. Obviously though there has to be some cuts somewhere in order to do that, so a somewhat increased risk of problems is one. Fortunately when they don't have issues they perform decently.

I agree though, when you can get a deal on a better technology it is a no brainer.

Man, I wish I would have got in on these 10s! I cant even imagine going back to a dynamic iris after living with the RS1. How about vertical banding on the LCDs? Is this a thing of the past I hope? My Panny 900 and Z3 drove me nuts with this.

The current LCD's have been much improved as compared to the PTAE900 and PLVZ3.

Thanks Jason and I dont doubt that. Is vertical banding in particular totally gone with LCDs though?

I mostly work with the Epson's and Mitsu's, but in my testing I have not come across vertical banding as of recently.

I agree the 35 is worth the extra bucks, not because of the increased blackness but because of the increased sharpness due to better 3 chip convergence. Also the B stock may be better quality than the later A stock because if they are pulling them off the line they have a better selection to choose from earlier.

And in this case it is less than an RS25 to boot.

Sorry to resurrect a very old thread, but where do you buy B-stock JVC projectors, besides the very rare availability on ebay?

The very rare availability on AV Science. That's where I got my B-Stock RS20.

Check the AV Science store site. When AV science gets some they go up there immediately. You can also PM or send an email to one of the AV Science salemen and ask him to notify you when some become available. Tthey go fast.
