Hi guys. I just built an HTPC using the build thread. Specs at the end of the post. So, it works great for playing DVDs and BDs, and will output the correct audio to my receiver without fail. However, whenever I try and play a video file saved on my computer, such as a .mkv, the audio keeps sort of hiccuping. Like it's just slightly out of tune and has to right itself, but it does this constantly throughout the video. I'm using FFDshow for audio and video decoding, set to SPDIF output since I'm running an HDMI to my receiver from the computer. Playing files in MPC, but the problem happens in VLC and WMP. I've messed with every setting, and still nothing. The receiver is picking up the audio as DTS 5.1, just like it does with DVDs and BDs, but it's hiccuping for these .mkv files. Tried it with a couple types, 480P, 720, 1080, AC3 audio ,AAC audio, and still nothing. Can't figure this out at all.
Help a gal out? I'm hoping I can solve this or not solve this in the relative future, as I still have a chance to return this stuff. Thanks!
Specs:
Core i3 530 2.93GHz
ASRock P55 Extreme
G.SKILL F3-12800CL9D-4GBNQ DDR3-1600 2 x 2GB
Sapphire HD 5670 with Catalyst 10.4 drivers and Realtek HDMI audio drivers.
Sony 7.1 Receiver (not sure model, but it always picks up the audio, no problem)
HDMI to receiver, HDMI to TV
