The 3 most important words in marriage are:

1) compromise
2) compromise
3) compromise

I would argue that it's:

1) communication
2) communication
3) communication

This was a very entertaining thread. But if I were you I would have stayed with the Bose for a while since although they aren't the best speakers they aren't bad either.

Having said that the Jamo are an excellent choice, I myself bought the same set for my folks along with the Jamo Sub 650.

The good thing is the speakers IMHO look very nice esp in the Dark Cherry finish so it'll look good anywhere you put them. However I can't say the same for the surrounds.

Sticking with the Bose was my original intent, but with the difficulties in getting it to work with my sub I knew we'd be selling it in the next few years anyway. That being the case, I figured it's better to sell it now while it's still worth something.

I was just thinking back to when I got married and was limited to a basic HTIB of about $500 which didnt get me a whole lot but it was a foot in the door. Well it was a surround sound system with little speakers and a smallish sub but it "fit" into the living room well.
It sounds "ok" to me and "awesome" to her. Thankfully later the damn thing broke and I was able to "convince" her into spending lots more on full size speakers and many thousands of dollars later have now a complete state of the art Klipsch system.

She didnt think it the sound quality would matter because all speakers play sound. She was blown away the first time she watched her favorite movie "twilight" she felt the impact of the bass and her words were like she was really there!! So I am glad that she saw how much of a difference it can really be.

i was talking to an old preacher a month or so ago.

one of his favorite questions to married men was

"do you want to be right or happy? chose one."
