How to use a Microsoft eHome infrared transceiver?

I have a dell studio xps 9000 pc and I noticed the above listed in device manager under Human Interface devices. After a quick google I found out that some of these shipped with a undocumented infrared device. Is there a way of seeing if it is indeed installed? Opened up the case but can't tell.

What remote can I use to test. I assume a harmony I have an old one kicking around but don't know where it is. I have lots of other AVR,dvd, blu,hd dvd, and xbox remotes, is there a way to use one of these as I don't know where the harmony is and will buy one if I can confirm the tranceiver is working as undocumented I doubt I will recieive support from dell.

BTW running W7 64 , WMC, Power dvd 10 and media player classic home cinema.

Use a standard Microsoft Media Center remote (or configure the Harmony as one).
