Ok, I think I know the answer to this one, but I thought maybe someone had a solution.
I have a Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD4 Mobo
and a HD 5850 GPU. I connect via HDMI to my Denon 3310CI. I have bit streaming of HD audio working great and do not want to change that.
I use the Zone 2 of my Denon to power speakers on my patio. The Zone 2 cannot read audio from HDMI
. So, my option is to use the digital optical or coax output to my Denon from my HTPC and lose DTS-HD and TrueHD audio. But, I have no desire (nor does my wife) to switch audio devices back and forth from HDMI to digital when I want my Zone 2 to play the same audio that is coming from my HTPC.
So, my question is:
Can I output analog audio using a stereo to RCA connection
and ALSO digital audio via HDMI at the same time
from the same source from my motherboard?
The Denon does have networking ability which I use, but when I want the eye popping WMC album art wall playing on my big screen inside, I want the audio sent to my Zone 2 outside as well.
The Denon's GUI for playing network music (just shows the album cover and is a bit clumsy) is no comparison to the WMC album art wall.
Can it be done, or am I SOL?
