MB now opens BR movies fullscreen in MPC-HC, but the movie doesn't play. Just the MPC-HC logo on the screen.

Does this break DXVA?

Yeah, directly in MPC-HC the BR folder will work. I think it has something to do with the "Fullscreen" selection. Normally I just got the DX error window and once I closed it the movie would play. But I'm off to bed for now.

Question: when i try to edit my remote keys for mpc-hc, i don't have MCE_Red or MCE_Blue (or any color).

i have a MCE remote which i pluged in the ir reciever and it worked. no software installed. i use a logitech remote.

do i need to install something?

nope, don't have them. have the latest mpc-hc as well.

I was having some audio popping issues, so after using DPC latency checker and discovering it was my wlan card (Revo 3610, Win 7 x64) and disabling it, that went away.

I decided to start clean, and use the Shark007 method for enabling the 7MC player (which worked perfectly for me before). However, now 1080p mkv's play fine in WMP and DTS bitstreams out to my 608, they stutter in MPC-HC 32bit, and in 7MC they play but some files play with black bars on the sides and audio is sent out as multichannel, not DTS, whereas others are perfect. I can't figure out why some files are doing this.

I followed the guide exactly (2nd time I'm doing it, installed x64 components but did not enable 64 bit player) and can't figure it out!??

I don't think you can launch a BR Folder from Media Browser with MPC HC and have it play automatically. Not sure if it is a Media Browser issue or MPC issue?

Success with bitstreaming HD audio using XBMC + DSPlayer. I am getting some stuttering with playback that I saw at least one other user note as well, but otherwise a very pain free process.

Right now it appears the stuttering is a known bug so most likely need to be fixed on the developers side. I should have my post up later today on setting up XBMC (not much involved) and then next is bitstreaming in SageTV

I will post it on MSS. I will let you know when it is up if you want to use any of the info or link to.

Your guide looks good. For Step 1 you might want to add a blurb about checking the "Networked Media Tank Audio Options" option which then gives you the choice in step three to choose multiple Audio Output formats for an Audio Track (i.e. if say you want a DTS(MA) and AC3 track). I use this option because I have a few players in my house that cannot play the DTS(MA) track or downmix, so I switch to the secondary AC3 track.

An example would be the SageTV HD200 extender. If connected directly to a TV it will send the core to the tv (so in the case of DTS-MA it will send DTS). However, almost all tvs cannot decode DTS so you get no sound. This is the reason why I need to include a secondary AC3 track which I switch to. If the HD200 could downmix the DTS to stereo when outputting then this wouldn't be an issue, but unfortunately it cannot.

Yeah, and the PCH-200 if connected directly to a TV will actually downmix to stereo so you are fine (I have a PCH C-200 connected directly to a tv and have no issues with audio playback). The SageTV HD200 is a dying breed, it is pretty much a common feature among players these days to support downmixing.

So I got up this morning and did a few things before I left for work.

1. Unchecked "Fullscreen" in MPC-HC
2. Moved a BR movie from the BDMV folder up to the movie named folder
3. Tested Media Browser with both BR file setups

Results: Oddly mixed


I opened that in MB and it started playing in 7MC, not MPC-HC and in Spanish! I only ripped it with the English 5.1 audio track. It restarted a few times after about 30 seconds or so but then it played fine with the exception of the Spanish audio track. When I try to open this path in 7MC Movies section it starts the PDVD9 page looking for a BR disc.


Started in MB and it opened MPC-HC but would not play (Fullscreen or Windowed).


Now this is the odd one. Same structure as Across the Universe but MB opened it in MPC-HC and played it with no problem. Even in fullscreen. So I moved New Moon to the same structure and it worked. But ACtU still wouldn't. It kept opening in 7MC and in Spanish. I can open the movie in MPC-HC and it plays fine and in English. Maybe I have to reboot the PC to clear the cache or something. So the structure type in the image below will work for me with MPC-HC. Hopefully the reboot to clear anything out will straighten out the Star Trek weirdness when I get home.
