Why not use 2.2.8 ? It fixes a lot of bugs present in 2.2.5

News : Btw, Orion SP1 is coming out in 2 days (Octomber 2), it fixes 3 minor bugs that got past QC in the initial Orion release. And CoverART 3D is soon to be released, in the final stages of the betatesting.

2.2.8 Broke MPC playback for me for ts and m2ts files, even reconfiguring both didn't fix the issue, and it also broke DVD (video_ts) file playback, so there go about 100 movies of mine. I liked the colored icons for media info but that was it, I'm sticking with 2.2.5, for me everything just works how I set it, and I don't have reconfigure three types of playback that were never touched by previous releases of media browser.

I'm about to buy This ION Acer AR3610 from ebay. Can anyone please help me if it is a good buy? Do I built it myself or I just get this Acer to run XBMC better? Please help. Thank you.

Because I read reports for broken playback via mpc-hc with 2.2.8..

So until this get fixed i'll stick
with 2.2.5..I downloaded the mediainfo.dll x64(using windows7 64bit) and copied both to system32 and syswow64 folders, but the only information displayed in media browser is the type of file(Mkv or br) and nothing else(using carbon theme)..

So I'm just posting this issue in here since there seems to be a lot of software gurus in this thread. Basically what I've got is a SAPPHIRE 100287L HD 5670 running audio to an Onkyo TX-SR605. So when I first set it up with TMT3 the blu-rays were playing in what I think was DTS-HD High Resolution
Audio. But through the course of installing updates and whatnot, now the best I can get the blu-rays to play in is Neo:6 Cin. I can't really tell if this is much worse than the DTS-HD, but is there anyway I can get back to what it was? All I really want to do is bitstream. Please and thank you for any help.

Have you reported it on the Media Browser forum? Since the Orion SP1 is coming out tomorrow it would be a good ideea, since maybe they can fix it.

@soulkeeper - PM braddles69 and see if he can give you the mediainfo dll from the media browser folder in C:\\ProgramData

Neo:6 Cinema is similar to Dolby Prologic II , a feature that can upscale 2 channel audio to 5 channels. Are you sure you did not modify something in the receiver`s settings? Also, do you have the TMT3 audio settings set to bitstream. Both the windows audio settings and the TMT3 one should look like this :

@Greeneyez, I did post on the bugs forum but was just told that ts and m2ts playback had been separated in the Orion build and to reconfigure them each to their own player, tried that and still no joy and also noticed that video_ts playback (via VCD mount) failed as well, kept getting a "File not found error - K/Our Movies/movie.mkv location not available", which leads me to believe that mounting is failing with Orion as well.

@soulkeeper, I can send you the plugin dll, but you have 64 bit and I am running 32 bit, don't know if that will conflict. I have a C:\\Programdata\\MediaBrowser\\Plugins\\MediaInfoProvider.dl l, and in Plugins folder there is a mediainfo folder there as well that contains mediainfo.dll. Let me know if you need it.
Cheers

Hi guys,

Another question - Is it possible to tell Media Center Master to gather all of the metadata onto a single drive, specified by me, rather than putting each movie's data in the directory with the movie? The reason I want to do this is because I am in the process of building a somewhat large server (15X2TB discs) running unRAID. unRAID spins down discs that are not in use, but when I use Media Browser to browse for a movie, I assume that it will be reading data on all of the discs, causing them to all be spun up. If the meta data were (or is it "was") assembled on single drive, then unRAID would only need to spin up that one drive to browse and then one drive to watch the movie, a much preferable way of doing things...

@TapND - Yes, ff/rw are not supported by default in MKV, only in other formats, Media Control does this, enables ff/rw and subtitle switching. If you are using the ffdshow software decoder you don`t need to do the modifications for the ffdshowDXVA one presented in my guide.

So is the issue of properly displayed PGS subs in 7MC due to ffdshow? Any idea if/when this might be patched?

Yes it is possible to let MCM do that. I saw a post on their forums where someone did just what you are describing.

Media Browser actually doesn`t read the metadata from the movie folder during library browsing, but from it`s internal cache sistem, where it caches all the info in your local metadata. Browsing through the library should not affect the disks where you store the movies + metadata. However, if you add a new movie than MB will scrape that disk for the information, automatically so it will spin up the drives.

I have no clue. I`ll try to report this to the ffdshow devs on doom9 today and see what they can make of it.

i managed to find the mediainfoprovider.dll and i downloaded media info (gui) version and i put them in the folders you mention with no big hopes to make it work...
i now have the type of the file shown plus aspect ratio and format of the sound!!!
only remaining problem is when the file type is hd-dvd or br..for them,i don't have other info displayed :-(

@GreenEyez
there is an option in media center master to "inspect and record video file details".. should i have this ticked?

Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I have been having luck going through my collection and backing up my blurays using EAC3to. However I just ran into a couple that had some issues. I don't remember the errors off-hand but I was wondering where I should go for troubleshooting tips for this?

Is there any advantage of using SlySoft AnyDVD HD which is NOT free versus using DVDFab HD Decrypter or DVDFab PassKey which are both FREE? I guess which is better and why?

I don't know for sure if the free DVDFabs get updated right away for new encryption

If you have coverart, that will at least give you the video file info in the coverart folder, blue for bluray, red for hd-dvd etc, it's well worth the USD$4 donation IMHO

When Iron Man 2 came out, there was a new beta of DVDFab within a day or so, which worked fine for me to rip the Blu-ray.
