The drivers have not updated to address this issue yet.

I will do some calibration as time permits to get an even better picture.

That is great. Thanks for following up and letting us know it improved.

I am not sure...I have the latest graphics driver from Intel installed, with the items above checked and it looks every bit as good as my stand alone player?

There used to be a noticeable difference, now you cannot tell which is which.

I still need to check to see what the Elite is doing to the video signal...

For those of you who are experiencing slow speeds with MediaBrowser, check out this thread I found at Green Button. http://thegreenbutton.com/forums/p/86350/434657.aspx

I made the recommended changes (Weather and theme backdrop) and it helped, a lot. My MB used to hang and slowly refresh whenever launching it, now I can hop right into it and browse with ease.

Thanks for heads up and to green button for finding it.

Please note the second recommendation ("Show Theme Backgrond") location is under theme options not the general options.

Good looking out, I forgot to mention that.

Wow. I hate to ask this since I'm sure it's been answered, but I can't find it. I am receiving the 'windows media center cannot find the specified file. Be sure the path is typed correctly. If it is, the file does not exist at the specified location, or the computer where the file is stored is offline' message.
The file is present in the Media Browser configurator>media collections>media tab with the path E:\\Video\\movie_name_disk_1. I ripped it to MKV using MakeMKV. The movie shows up in Media Browser labeled titles 00-15. I've tried the launching 01 (the largest one) and the some others but no dice. What am I doing wrong.

What do you mean the largest one, you have multiple mkvs in a movie folder?

Yes. They are .mkv in windows explorer under E:\\videos. They appear as title 00-15 in Media Browser, after ripping with MakeMKV. The largest file is 32Meg. All one movie.
The same files will play in MPC-HC but I'm seeing pixelation every time a scene changes, so I'm trying different players to see which one I want to use.

Has anyone had success getting Media Browser to recognize movies with fractions in the title? I have Criterion Collection's 8 1/2 stored, but can't find a naming convention that will get it recognized by MB. www.themoviedb.org, where MB gets its metadata from has it listed with fractions.

Hmmm. I have Naked Gun 2 1/2 and Naked Gun 33 1/3 and both are recognized. The big difference is that I use metabrowser to gather my metadata for viewing in Media Browser

Fractions have not bothered me but the stupid colons they are using in titles are a PIA on a Windows based system...

I'm thinking the rip didn't go properly. I've used MakeMKV and it just made one file, i didn't have to change anything.

Is MB pulling the data or are you using some external application like MetaBrowser or MediaCenter master?
I use MCM to collect metadata and typically replace a colon in the title with a comma in the folder name. For example, "Battle: Los Angeles" would be stored in a folder named "Battle, Los Angeles (2011)". I believe you can still use the colon in the SortTitle field in the xml file (i.e. the LocalTitle and SortTitle fields can be different).

I've been using MediaBrowser with the CoverArt Plugin. I was told that it gets its data from themoviedb.org, but I am unable to name the movie folder 8 1/2 on a windows system. I have to type it out 8 and a half, or eight and a half, but then MediaBrowser/CoverArt do not recognize the title.

How are you naming your movie folders? Are you spelling out the name completely?

I have for example "Naked Gun 33 1 3 - The Final Insult" or "Naked Gun 2 5 - The Smell of Fear", since "/" is not allowed in a folder name

Try doing what dbone does, if that doesn't work add in the year at the end ie The Naked Gun 33 1 3 (1994). If that doesn't work try using an external program for scrapping the files like Media Center Master or MetaBrowser.

Is there a way to use an iPhone3 to control WMC7 and/or Media Browser?

There are lots of iphone apps that can be used.

My personal choice is RemoteX. It can be used for WMC (and MB is contained in the WMC GUI, of course). The best part about RemoteX for me is that it can also be used to launch and control Foobar2000, as WMC is still god-awful for music imo. It also launches and controls a number of other apps.

Well this is weird.

I went to check my 007 codec pack on admin mode (still can't get subs to work right, and was going to disable them entirely) and it said new versions of the codec pack were available. So I downloaded the new ones (for both 64 and 32), ticked all the usual boxes I've ticked before, and suddenly my receiver isn't able to get DD or TrueHD (at least via bitstream -- the rcvr is reading 'multichannel PCM,' whereas it would previously read 'Dolby D' or 'TrueHD').

Now, that being said, while DTS-MA has always worked flawlessly, TrueHD had been hit or miss in the past (with a whole lot of miss). But, even when TrueHD wasn't being transmitted, at least it would default back to the DD core. Now, my SD DVD's and my BR's both aren't showing up as DD.

In case you were wondering, broadcast TV from my Ceton tuner IS still showing up as DD on my rcvr.

Odd...
Wow. What a painful evening it's been. Since posting my problem, I've been trying all kinds of things to get it to work. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the codec packs. I tried a couple of tricks that I was able to find on shark's forums from somewhat similar issues. I've been checking and unchecking boxes all over the place. Hell, I even tried rolling my Windows codec pack back to 2.8.4 (though the installation hung for an hour -- so I canceled it) and doing a couple of system restores (which failed. WTF?). I tried reinstalling and updating my video card drivers (again). Still, no luck.

It's not like my system is full of bloatware. I built the PC a week ago -- Sandy Bridge i5, Radeon 6970, W7 64 build w/ a Ceton tuner. I've installed nothing but media browser, MCM, Avast, TMT5, PDVD9 (came w/ the BR drive), Shark's 2 codec packs, and foobar. That's it. No other media players or apps that might f$%^ w/ shark's codec pack.

The most frustrating part is that, before I updated the codec packs this afternoon, all DD content and about a third of my TrueHD content bitstreamed just fine. And DTs and DTS-MA and DTS-HR still work flawlessly.

About DD passthrough and current Shark007 repeases.
Also TueHD bitsreaming is a known issue with current ffdshow versions.

I often include current SVN releases of ffdshow but obviously, the latest, isnt always the greatest.

Ok, guys. I figured out the naming convention with MB and Media Center. I guess I hadn't tried typing the entire name out (without numbers) and including the date in parentheses. It seems to be working now.

I do have one final issue, however. Whenever I use Media Browser to launch from Media Center into TMT 5, Media Center stays on top, and I have to minimize to get over to the TMT 5 window. When I had TMT3, I would launch from Media Center and TMT 3 would automatically start playing as the top window.

Any suggestions? Does this make sense?

Okay, I figured out my sound issue and have everything working. This is really nice and I thank you for the guide.
I apologize if this seems noobish but I have another question. If these have been answered please direct me to them.
How do I deal with a series that has several episodes on one disk, from MCM standpoint? S0x Dox does not seem to work. What is the best way?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
