Well played, sir, heh.
So after some work, I got the Shark007 codec pack up and running and can now play BD-ripped mkv files in WMC7... Only issue I'm trying to figure out now is why my computer still appears to be sending multichannel PCM to my receiver instead of bitstreaming the HD audio codec.
The only way I think that could be happening is that WMC for some reason is sending the Dolby True HD (or AAC, I suppose, since that track is also in the mkv) audio to some codec and decoding it before passing it to my receiver. But by enabling pass-through, shouldn't I have avoided that?
EDIT: OK, this is bizarre... I just went back and played the same files, and they seem to be bitstreaming the proper codecs now... WTF. I guess that's good, though. I suppose it could be a problem with the display on my receiver.
