Im interested in this tv as well,but im wondering how the input lagg is becouse i wanna game on my PS3 and XBOX 360 on this tv.
?
Someone can tell me/us more about the lagg input?
Also,does this tv suffer from major IR/burn in fast?

Has anyone on this thread either owned or seen side by side a PK550 and a PK950? I would like to hear first hand observations comparing the effectiveness of the 950's TruBlack filter for reducing glare vs the 550's screen. I received a 60PK550 on Friday and am happy with the set except for the screen's mirror like reflectivity. How much of a difference does the filter make? Is it enough to spend the extra $$$ for?

I am looking forward to seeing this televise in person. If its a great set I will wait until the price starts to drop as everyone will buy Samsung and Panasonic forcing the LG pricing lower, then I will get the LG for a steal.

So I purchased a 60PK950 to replace my 60PK550 due to the amount of glare on the 550. I have to say the difference is worth the extra $$$ to me. I had taken photos of both (since the 550 was picked up about 15 minutes before the 950 was delivered) but, unfortunately, when I pulled my memory card from my camera and put it in my card reader, the card got corrupted. I'll see if I saved any previous photos somewhere and will retake photos of the 950 and post them if so.

Judging from the photos above, the glare is still pretty mirror like. I haven't made a final decision, but am leaning towards a Panny V10.... Need to see one of these in person though!

I observed the reflectivity for the PK550 and PK950 in the same store. The units were near each other but not side by side. My conclusion was that the PK950 was a visible improvement (in terms of reflectivity) over the PK550, close to but but not quite as good as a new Samsung, and not nearly as as good as a new Panasonic.

I saw the PK950 at BB and the set looks aesthetically beautiful. It would be great to hear some more feedback from owners/calibrators/reviewers of this set regarding picture quality, "edge enhancements" issues, glare, etc.

The set is wonderful in my opinion. There is a "sharpness issue" but that will be solved with a firmaware update later on (confirmed by LG). The black levels are very good and the picture quality is really great! There is almost no buzz on my set and you can only hear it if you turn the sound off, but why should you do that?! Some minor IR, but it will be better the more hours the set gets.

I had the PK550 before and compared to that set, PK950 is a better TV. The most importent thing is that the black levels and the glare are better on PK 950. If they solve the "sharpness issue" this TV will be superb!

It's good that we are starting to hear feedback from buyers so thanks to all for the comments and observations. I too am interested in the reduction in glare relative to the 550 as I am concerned that my room will allow too much ambient light even with window treatments due to open access to other rooms. I prefer to watch in the dark, but my schedule doesn't always allow it, especially living in the southern US and especially in the summertime!

I want to like this TV (especially since I have very little interest in 3D and the 60" is a nice compromise...not to mention I hate being a lemming ). I am considering it along with the models (LG 550, Panasonic VT25 and V10, and Samsung C8000). Frankly, however, I am concerned that the going price (MSRP is crazy) is too high relative to the competition at this point. Of course, I only care about PQ/value/long-term reliability, and have little interest in the non-PQ features. Perhaps these features are worth the extra cost to some folks and I'd welcome your opinions on that. I might easily be missing something here that the LG has (other than set design) that the competition does not.

Honestly, I am anxious to see Chad's review (I consider him a trustworthy source). Knock a couple or few hundred off the price I am seeing around the 'net and from AVS Forum sponsors, and I'd be far closer to pulling the trigger.

JMO...thoughts welcome.

I have read that PK950 black is so black that greys become black. And that does seem to be the case looking at these pictures. Areas that should be just a bit "shadow" is instead pitch black.

But perhaps that can be calibrated?

I was in a shop yesterday, and the saw PK550 next to a Samsung LED/LCD, and the Samsung was amazing, showing high detail and nice grays. Same the price is WAY more than I am willing to pay.

I purchased the 60 PK950 2 weeks ago and I'm very happy with this set.

I'm leaning toward this set too after seeing the price at Cleveland online. Looks very reasonable. More than reasonable.

Are they shipping with the Magic Remote and is that a cool feature or annoying?

Zak, can you tell a difference in the other features as well, like the contrast ratio and did yours have the Magic Remote? Maybe they all do, I don't know. Thanks

Who has calibrated his 950 with good equipment? I would really like to have those settings. In te 550 thread there are some settings posted and they look great although they differ. It would be nice to have some ISF calibrated settings in this topic to pic from.

I just got pk950 2days ago. It's my first pdp and I'm very satisfied with it.

but at night wathcing in low volume, I heard buzzing sound.

So I called LG service center, the mechanic from LG came,

and says it's normal and not a flaw...

I can hear the sound at 10 feets distance in my room about 5 volume.

Is this alright? or I should return it.

I read many threads that there's no buzz in front of the tv

and only can hear back of the tv.

I'm in korea, and here in korea,

LG doesn't tends to exchange or refund with that issues.

When customer claims about buzz,

they says it's normal and they can't do anything about it.

I only used the big remote to learn some commands to my Harmony 885 so all my remotes are in the closset.
