3d Autoview is supposed to help with 3d over an hdmi 1.3 connection. I noticed that when I switched it off, I got more depth and pop and noticed less crosstalk.
When I had it on the default setting (ON), I saw crosstalk in movies where there were supposed to be none (i.e. Open Season). The review on Blu-ray.com stated that Open Season was a reference quality 3D Blu Ray with almost no crosstalk and excellent depth. When I watched it before knowing about the 3d Autoview OFF setting, I thought the picture was flat and saw alot of crosstalk. Last night, I turned the 3D Autoview OFF and was blown away with the clarity and depth of the 3D image. The improvement may appear subtle to some, but I really noticed the difference.

Thanks for the details. To confirm your observations it would be a good test to watch again with 3D Autoview ON and see if you still feel that way.
I'm not doubting your observations however I am skeptical that this feature would have anything to do with HDMI 1.3 versus 1.4 cables. After all, its a digital signal so its either going to work or its not. Can't imagine certain info would be present one way but not the other, or how the info present on the cable could change. Also from everything I read the only difference between these cables is their speed rating.
I would think the 3D Autoview would be something more along the lines of the TV automatically ("auto") switching to 3D view mode ("view") when a 3D signal is sent from the blu-ray player. Just guessing though.
