7.1 Speaker placement Help , please!

I recently upgraded my receiver to the new Onkyo TX-SR608 , and got myself some used TSC speakers, 2 Front, 2 Rear, 1 Center, 2 Dipole surround and a powered sub for a good price, my question is how do I lay this out in the room plan I have posted here. The left side of the picture is to show where there is a brick hearth and (2 ft high) and full brick the length of that to the ceiling, like a bench built into the room. Any suggestion on best placement would be appreciated. Think I can put the Rears on the shelf along the back if I boost the power to them ? The top of the picture is where the TV is situated, betweeen the windows, the couch is in the center there, and on the lower left above the door is stairs going down and up .

Oh, sorry the room is approximatelly 16' x 25', the TV currently is a 46" DLP Samsung. The walls currently are paneled. I was thinking of running the speaker wire behnd the crown molding.

I'm guessing the biggest questions stem from how to mount your left side surround? As in mounting to the brick? Some pictures would be helpful, but I would think the rest of the speaker placement would be "standard." Fronts equidistant from the TV and relatively the same height, if possible. The center should be somewhere on the TV stand(?, if you have one) Sub could be placed in a couple different places really, tough to pinpoint that one. I think the rears could go on the back, my room is about 25' I'm sitting at 12'-13' and have the speakers on the wall behind me.
