'BOARDWALK EMPIRE' on HBO HD - Page 41

I also like the Hoover's undercover Agent Knox subplot....

Dr. Valentin Narcisse is a great foil to Nucky- intellectual, calculating and subversive.

I agree that Richard's situation becomes more poignant all the time. He is, of course, a murderous monster. Nevertheless, he is tortured by what he has done. Because of the situations that have put him where he is, I can't help but sympathize while simultaneously knowing that he is doomed.

Boardwalk Empire continues to attract top of the line guest stars. I thought Eric Laden, as J. Edgar Hoover, and Jeffrey Wright, as the creepy Dr. Narcisse, were both terrific in this week's show. I am enjoying the show at least as much as ever.

I haven't had a chance to go back and google it, but the guy that Richard didn't kill in Milwaukee....was that Jim Beaver from Deadwood/Justified?

I couldn't help but think that's who I was looking at as I watched that scene.

The same guy that ended up dead in the most recent episode? No, that wasn't Jim Beaver. Jim Beaver also has a long term recurring role in Supernatural. Great actor, I can't think of anything that I haven't liked him in.

There's nothing on his IMDB page. I saw Beaver in an episode of "Mike and Molly" on CBS a few months ago. Quick one and done episode.

Not sure if the guy from Milwaukee this past Sunday had a "name" in the episode or script. I didn't get a chance to check HBO's site to see if they list the actors name either.

So I guess the episode was such a snoozer that everyone fell into a deep slumber? No conversation...at all.

Time has not been kind to Patricia Arquette.

Yeah, not much to talk about.
There were a few moments of "no f_cking way" IMO.

No, it hasn't.
She should stay away from the ice cream.

So, what exactly is Harrow doing? Where is he headed now?

The guy down in Tampa who was trying to get Nucky to come into the land deal so he could pay off his "debt" to the Tampa hood he eventually put a machete through---did we ever see him before?

And I wonder if Nucky's nephew will wind up being the way that the FBI gets to Nucky.
No they never get him, some other gagster does.

What did Richard's sister whisper in his ear when he left? I listened to it a couple times and I couldn't make it out.
She whisper that he should use a different last name.

I really enjoyed last night's episode. Lots of things got rolling and I cannot imagine what Van Alden is getting himself into at this point... he's being taken for a ride by design. And what the hell Eddie?! You had ONE JOB! lol
post #1219 of 1447

I really liked this latest episode.  The pace was less languorous and the stories were woven together very well.  Even Eddie got an interesting side story with a portentous ending.  Hope it stays like this going forward vs returning to the (occasionally painfully)  slow pace.

This past weekends episode was fantastic. So many irons in the fire. So many storylines being moved forward.

Poor Eddie, like HD Hockey Guy said...you had ONE JOB lol.

If this was asked and answered previously I apologize but does anybody know what happened to Margaret and the kid?

I believe she went to live with her brother in New York...

Thanks. Both of us had no idea. Does anybody think she'll be back?

I believe someone posted Earlier in the thread that Margaret would be back in the latter part of the season. I am just guessing here but if the bureau gets to Nucky, she might become a state witness against him to get revenge for Owen's death.

Disclaimer: I don't know how it played out in real life for Nucky, so my post above is just conjecture.

He died of natural causes in real life. He did some time but I don't know how much.

It would be just like you knuckleheads to think the main character of the show would be killed or spend copious amounts of time away from the center the show's universe by being imprisoned.

Anyway, also noticing a huge reduction in bobbies. Not liking that.

Was Capone that much of a jerk in real life?
