I was simply stating if I had the funds I would have gotten the Sammy d8000, but if the lg lx9500 is better and the same price, yes I would gotten that one instead. :-)

I think most of us that bought the LG5300/5400 is because it's the best TV for the price (47 inch LCD under 1000$). It's not supposed to be compared to the LX9500

All the LX9500's have S-IPS panels, no exceptions. I like saving $3,000 on a tv. I got a 30 day money back guarantee and amazon backed my purchase. Amazon is a billion dollar corporation. They can afford to pay a few thousand back due to their policy if you purchase from a certified Amazon retailer. I would have purchased it from Best Buy, but the lowest price they could due was still $1,800.00 dollars more. Also I got free shipping. I received my tv in two days. It is nothing wrong with buying from a retailer. I did purchase my lg 5400 from Best Buy due to I got a great price.

Just noticed a new TV here at Best buy, the LV 5400, which seems to be this years replacement for the LE 5400.

I wonder what are the improvements, and if this new model still has IPS panels

I'm looking into vizio as an alternative should my LG reprogram itself again. It's overrated. No 120hz support via input. Can't use as pc monitor, input lag. True motion is unnatural even in low setting. I don't notice any difference in image quality between $350? vizio and $600 LG, other than screen size. May as well get 26" vizio.

The 32" is only offered on the LV2500 this year. Comparing it spec for spec it seems to be a step down from the LE5400.

I hope 08.02.16 isn't the last update this tv is going 2 get. We haven't had 1 update this year so far.

I think there will be another update at some point in time to include Hulu Plus. If you go to the hulu plus website it states Hulu Plus is coming to LG internet ready devices later this year.

I just hope when they do do the the update it doesn't screw everything else up too, as it has done in the past.

I have the LE5300, and I'm not calling some tech just to upgrade the firmware so I guess the installed one will have to do

I have the LG 32LE5400 currently setup as my monitor. Whenever I start playing a game or doing something else that is somewhat graphically intensive, I get a loud popping sound coming out of the back bottom right hand corner. It sounds like the click that occurs when the system powers on, but a bit louder. It only happens when I start gaming on my PC. It never happened when I would game on PS3 or 360. I currently have my computer hooked up thru HDMI 1. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have access to the service menu thru my Harmony remote. Does anyone know which options in the service menu will fix the passthru? Passthru doesn't work for me as is.

I can't recommend any speaker bar. :-).

Mine has an IPS (32le5400) but I will be craigslisting it after nearly a year because I can't put up with the input lag for PC use, which is mainly why I got it.

Lot of people are pretty happy with this one (including me on my 47LE5400)...

has anyone noticed trumotion effect even when trumotion is set to OFF or even Custom: 0/0? Still seeing some soapopera-y effect even when off.

I noticed the same thing while I had my laptop hooked up to the TV (HDMI out on the laptop to HDMI input 2 on the TV). I was using the laptop to watch some of the NCAA Mens Basketball tourney back in March. I moved the the cable to HDMI input 3 and the popping went away.

I thought I noticed some when I first got the tv but not anymore. It's probably my eyes that adjusted.

I thought it was established the set has a native 120Hz refresh rate even with Trumotion turned off. So it must still be smoother than lets say a 60hz model

Which Hamony remote gives you access to the service menu? My TV reset itself, and I have this problem again. I'll get another service call to fix it, but I don't want to be orphaned when the warranty expires. I'll post the options after the service call.

A bit complicated, but what you have to do is program your Harmony using the website described in this link, and manually add EZ Adjust using a "Phillips Pronto" code.

anyway to dumb down to 60hz? i really hate the soap-opera

I just purchased the wifi doggle for the LE5400 about a week ago, all the Netcast apps work fine except for yahoo. When ever I select yahoo either I get a empty black screen for minutes on end or it immediately kicks be out of Netcast and back to normal viewing. Has anyone else experienced this?

This is an OLD issue from much earlier in the thread, but I wanted to post some success I have had in case anyone is still looking for help with DLNA streaming and such.

I am using the TwonkyMedia server and my LG TV finds it, lists the media, and plays everything perfectly. The only hitch is anything with DTS audio will have no sound. Found a great script that will strip the DTS sound and replace with AC3 5.1 surround.

The script is mkvdts2ac3.sh. You have to google it since I don't have enough posts on this forum to link a URL yet...

I just run the script, and in a few minutes the movie is ready to play. Again, just wanted to share...
