Help! Mounted Ceiling Speakers

Hey guys,

I've been lurking here for a few days, reading and learning a lot but i still need your help and expertise!
I've decided to buy a sound system to pair up with my Kuro KRP-500A, i'm pretty decided on the receiver, Onkyo TX-R608 and i have been leaning towards some KEF speakers, 3005SE or 5000.2.
The catch here is that i'll have to mount the rear/surround speakers on the ceiling due to room layout (i can upload a sketch-up drawing with all the furniture in). The rear wall is almost 3 meters behind the couch with a dining table in between... The whole room is quite large, 45 square meters.

I was wondering if it's possible, without too much compromise on sound quality and if it's doable with these Speakers, i've only seen them wall mounted...

Thx for all your help!

Should be a snap as these speakers have built in mounts in their bases - just be sure to use a stud finder and long enough screws and you can mount them upside down on your ceiling. Just angle them downward toward the seating and it will sound fine.

Thx for your input, much appreciated as I'm a complete noob on this...!

I'm guessing you meant both speakers set will have the same type of mounts, but i mistype the second set, i meant 5005.2.

Also, how much distance from the couch should they be mounted?

Thx.
