Sony Bravia Audio drops? Need Advice ASAP

Here is the deal, Back in December I grabbed a Sony Bravia HDTV (Model Kdl-40s504).. I frequently get audio drops on both my cable box and the Ps3 Both are hooked up via HDMI.. Sometimes Ill turn the tv on and the Ps3 will start up with no sound and other times it will start with sound but once the game starts it loses it.. Then Ill switch back to the cable box and the audio will be missing on that and other times the audio will be fine and when I click back to the game the audio has returned...Often I have to completely turn the tv off and then back on to get audio to return at all Now Ive called sony and they said that Ill I can do is have one of there "Tv repair shops" come pick the tv up and inspect it at there shop, Now my problem with that is that what if its a firmware update needed (Sony said no such update exist for my tv)...I was wondering if anyone here has any idea what it could be before I finally give in and ship the tv off....

Here's my experience with audio drops:

I had just bought a new Sony NX700 tv and Sony S570 Blu Ray Player (no cable tv hookup currently). I was getting audio drops of 3-5 seconds about once or twice per hour on average only when watching a Blu Ray Disk, but not when watching a DVD on the same player, and not when watching streaming netflix through the TV.

So I picked up a differnt (but apparently not different enough), Blu Ray Player, I got the Sony S370 Blu Ray Player. After experiencing the same audio drops with that one, I decided it was probably the NX700 TV, I was still in the 30-day return window, and with the other minor flaws (poor viewing angle, 'cones' issue, and creaking/cracking noises the first hour as it wamrs up), I decided to return it, and try a EX700 (the next model down);

(as a side note, even though the EX700 is the next model down, and the 'design' isn't as cool as the NX700, it actually has a better viewing angle than the NX700, and doesn't have the cracking/creaking noises, although it still does have the 'cones' issue, although to an even lesser degree NX700, making it a very minor issue, you really have to be looking for it, and even then you can only see it when the top of the screen is a completely solid color)

Anyway, after getting the new EX700, and frustratingly, still having the audio drops (with both Blu Ray Players), I bought a Samsung Blu Ray player, and sure enough, no more audio drops, so it turns out the audio drop issue wasn't the TV after all, it was (both) Sony Blu Ray Players.

If you had specified your TV in the title of the post I wouldn't have clicked on it as I don't this model.

Therefore I can offer only minimal help and would focus on more general matters (as the PS3 isn't known to drop audio via HDMI) like the HDMI cables.
What cables are you using and what are your cable lenghts?

Yea its odd seeing as to how it happens with both the Ps3 slim & the comcast hd drv/cable box.. The thing with mine though is I read a review and they said this "black Friday" Sony TV is basically the exact same model as the KDL-40S5100 and that TV there was known to have certain issues that Sony eventually offered a firmware patch for, one problem including audio drop..Now I'm going to call Sony and ask them they think it would be a good idea to try and install that tvs update on mine since they're basically the same...
