Ninja Assassin made my sub chuff

Watch Ninja Assassin last night (good flick - awful gory though!) and in the beginning where the Ninja rose from the shadows I assume there was some deep bass going on but I couldn't tell since my SVS PC12-PLUS sounded like a locomotive which what I can only assume was port chuffing? I was watching at about -10db on a Denon 1909 Audyssey calibrated system.

Anyone else experience this?

Yup, its low and strong there(that 10-20hz stuff). Don't remember how mine system handled that scene. There is another similar bass scene later in movie.

Quad PB13 Ultras here...

The LFE was freaking awesome in this movie!!! I don't doubt your single sub had a little trouble handling the amount of LFE in this movie.

I watched this movie at -10 MV with my subs running 6db hot (81 dB vs 75 dB for other speakers). I also had Dynamic EQ on.

AWESOME!!!

Totally agreed. I'm running a Mirage BPS-400 (2 x 12") and it seemed like my whole house rocked on various low scenes. LOL!

I actually liked the movie. It definitely held my interest.

The LFE was insane. Like 9 (except more LFE content) and Terminator Salvation.

The plus cylinder test by Ilkka had been seen to be underported in his review on HTS. So if you push it too hard you might get port noise as you heard.

I agree with you on Terminator 4 the LFE on the bluray is pretty intense, my ceiling tiles and closet door were rattling even at a modest volume and this is from an only "8" sub. Imagine it with an Epik Knight!
