home theater speaker setup

I have a sony home theater system that has 6 speakers. I just added 2 speakers to my outdoor patio and would like to be able to turn off the inside audio and just have the outdoor play. I am able to select a variety of "sound fields" on my system such as multi, music, movie, 2 channel, etc. I bought a speaker selection switch from radio shack and hooked up the 2 rear indoor speakers and the 2 outside to it. the speaker switch offers A, B and C...i can't seem to adjust so I just have the audio playing outside....any suggestions???

THANKS!!!!!!

You'll want to have your AVR set to two channel and run the L and R into your switch... and one output to the mains and the other to the outdoor speakers. Pretty straight forward.

Many AVRs have 2 zones meaning you can do what you want without a switch... just turn off zone A (mains in room) and turn B on (outside speakers).
