1. What is the difference between the 1020 and the 1120?
The 1120 is more powerful (draws 440 watts compared to 250 watts).
The 1120 has pre-outs for using a separate amplifier.
The 1120 is taller and longer ( 16.56" W x 6.82" H x 17.06" D) and heavier at nearly 29 lbs.
The 1120 has superior video processing with the Marvel Qdeo chip with more Noise Reduction features (see Question 4).
The 1120 has binding posts for all speaker terminals while the 1020 uses crimp for Height/Wide/Speaker B
The 1120 supports Audio Return Channel (with HDMI Control enabled).
2. What is the difference between the 1120 and the VSX-32?

3. How does this receiver compare to its peers like the Denon 2311 and the Onkyo 708?
4. How many speakers can I run at the same time?
7 (and a sub). There are 9 speaker connectors, but only 7 can be used at any one time. You must choose between back surrounds and front/wide.
