The only way I can get it to connect again is to power it off and back on. My PS3 is also connected to the same bridge and doesn't have a problem. I tried setting the IP,DNS and such manually and it does the same thing. I power cycled the router and bridge and the only way the connection comes back is by power cycling the receiver. I am going to bypass the wireless bridge and try going directly to the router tonight to see if that helps.....if not, it's back to the store for an exchange (this was also the suggestion from Pioneer support).

I hope I dont have to send it back, everything else works fine. I'm hoping it's something that can be fixed via firmware update. Have you been able to hook it up directly to your router yet? Im interesting to know if it works. Im looking for a cable long enough for mine to try out.

Hi Winston

Have you tested if 9.1 works with an extra amplifier? Hope your wife isn't too angry

(I know it says on the play to website it isnt supported, but I have found plenty of other things that arent on that list that should be)

Thanks!

I have win7, i setup a media center playlist, found the 'Play to' button. It says 'Mo media devices found'

I can run the web interface from the receiver on the pc, and do internet radio stations so it is connected to the network. (BTW, my internet radio does NOT cut out. It might be a bandwidth issue you all are seeing. I have fiOS (35 meg up and down).

Media player DOES see my ORB and TVersity servers, just nothing in 'Play to'

Does the 1120 support firmware updates? Could not find this in the manual, nor that of the VSX-32.

Not sure, I would think with the USB input on there it would be possible. But I havent seen any documentation about it.

Nah, it's not a bandwidth issue. The stations at most are only playing at 128Kbps, most seem to be at 96Kbps or lower. That and I have 20Mbps down, and Netflix over the PS3 streams fine.

What about the ethernet port or that's dedicated just for internet radio and the controlling application via PC.
Also has someone found out a way to program this one on Harmony and it has been a pain so far if I want to program the internet radio as the commands change for up,down, enter when you press the internet radio button on the original remote. The only saving grace I have found is that you can add internet radio as an extra device and then program the keys manually. I am thinking of trying the higher end Elite thats already in the database like SC-27 or something. Will give it a try tonight I guess.

Just ordered from Amazon, great price, thought I would have to wait till December to get it shipped for under...
Mine shipped from Value Electronics yesterday as well. I got it for the same price as the ABT deal mentioned before. Just ordered some cable/etc from mono price and some BIC acoustech's from Sound Distributors. Went with the 8" line (PL28, PL89, PL66). I already have a 12" Emotiva Ultra Sub to use with it, and will later build a DIY ported 15" Tempest X2.

just bought mine from amazon as well.I was debating buying the onkyo 608 or the pioneer 1020.I saw the great price at amazon on the 1120.But I felt a little guilty thinking to buy a new receiver since I just bought a panny 3dbluray player and mits starter kit.I also have PS3 that will not pass 3d through the onkyo 606.Then I saw my two large coffee cans full of change so I went to Ralphs grocery store to use there coinstar machine. You can press amazon giftcard and it will print you a reciept with a code to purchase online. So I wound up paying $20 for the pioneer 1120.Now I don' fell bad because it was almost free.

Must have been one huge change jar! Last time I changed mine in, I ended up with about $200, sounds like you beat that by quite a bit!

Just can cancelled a Elite 32 order(sorry VE you were great). Bounced for days between 1120k and 32 - I really want ice but need to pay for son's textbooks - these. With few very minor differences they are the same unit less triggers. Power, weight and features exactly the same per manuals - so similar I believe the are interchangeable
Deal on Amazon got me and my week of waiting over come Wednesday. Got new Def Techs today so I am ready for upgrade to be underway. Thanks again Winston - soon I will be buying all kinds of new a/v gear to test/review.

I did connect it directly to the router but it still disconnected after 30 minutes. I took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it for a new one today and unfortunately it does the same thing. Now I am really stumped. I am pretty good at setting up networks and I have multiple access points and a media bridge runningin the house. All my other devices (PS3, Xbox, 2 laptops 2 PC's and 2 Iphones) all connect just fine and never loose their connection but I have a hard time believing I could be unlucky enough to get 2 bad units from Pioneer. I haven't seen any other post regarding lost connections so it doesn't appear to be a general product issue.......this sucks since everything else about this receiver is exactly what I waslooking for

Good choice to save money....they are identical...minus the triggers and extra 1yr warranty.

Yeah, I think its in the firmware. When I check my router, the unit shows up, its being assigned an IP address, the MAC address is showing up etc... One last thing I might try is doing a reset on the unit. I saw some information on how to do that in the manual.

I also havent seen much about the internet radio either, but it could be people plug it in check it out for 5 mins, and then move on. Im sure as more and more units are purchased we will hear about it.

I picked up a 32 from BB yesterday. Some stores have them in stock, even though the website still reports "coming soon". Will connect it to my network in the coming days and report back if it disconnects, or not.

As far as internet radio goes, Pandora from my iPhone is the way I was intending to go, and that worked fine yesterday. Just wish Pio had included Pandora built-in. Other than that small wrinkle I'm really pleased so far.

smurraybhm, I got a good deal from VE on the 1120. They price match. I paid less than what Amazon shows it for.

Do any of you guys have DirecTV? If so, have you noticed any audio drop-outs when setting your DirecTV receiver to Dolby Digital with the 1120 Pioneer Receiver? Onkyos are really bad at this so I am looking to get rid of my Onkyo and get a Pioneer. The problem is actually a DirecTV problem (audio glitch in datastream that lasts in the milliseconds - but it is enough to cause the Onkyo's to lose sync and for whatever reason it takes those receiver about 2 to 3 seconds to resync which is very annoying).

I don't have my 1120 yet, but I do have an Onyko receiver and DirecTV, and the audio dropouts are EXTREMELY annoying. So much so I'm considering dropping DirecTV and giving something else a shot - its been like this for five years at least, and they haven't done jack about it, pathetic for the price I pay for their service. Also having problems with blasts of several seconds of very high volume white noise on some channels.

Actually he offered me a price slightly higher than Amazons latest and next day every from AMZ free. VE is great but I hate to wait with no 32 in site - no differenc between this and the 32, so I will be hooking a new recever up in a few days to go with some new Def Tech fronts and center. Can't wait to turn this baby lose. More later this week.

P.S. Replacing a Onkyo 705 that suffers the Direct drops too - hope the Pioneer is a cure.

Winston,

Can you post a link to your reviews of the 1120 and/or VSX-32?

2 questions for owners:

What source signals can be output to Zone 2? Is it limited to analog sources or can it route HDMI and digital inputs? Can ipod and internet radio be passed to zone 2? I have read the manual and as far as I can tell any type of input, analog or digital, should be playable on zone 2.

The second question is on the speed of switching hdmi inputs and signals. How long does it take for the 1120 to handshake and connect when switching HDMI inputs? How about if the same input changes resolution or audio format?

- my guess is:

ipod - yes
internet radio - maybe
spdif/hdmi sources - no

- handshake times will be impacted by every piece of equipment in the chain, so unless someone has exactly what you have, it would be tough to answer that question with any real certainty...

As per page 30 of the Manual only these signals can be output:
DVD, TV/SAT, DVR/BDR, VIDEO, INTERNET
RADIO, iPod/USB, CD, CD-R/TAPE, TUNER,
ADAPTER PORT, SIRIUS
So I am guessing everything thats not HDMI.
^^^

nope, that's not what you can guess from that...

it's likely that it will only pass analog from all of those sources that you listed (other than radio and sirius, which are built in), other than the ones i noted in my previous post...
