What about the mount? there are many mounts that work. AVS sells them. Chief, etc.

The mount i got is made for Mits by Premier.

I have been reading the forum and can't wait to check this projector out. Have any one of you played with the anamorphic settings? I would love to know what that eperience was like.

My Mits 9000 is the HC9000 Advanced,
THats what is shipping right Now In Canada.....

This Projector Is way bigger than my epson.
Throw distance is 12.8 ft and i am a 1/2 inch on each side short on a 113 16x9 screen...
That 12.8 is Lens to Screen
The detail on this projector is amzing much better than the 9700 epson
still need play with the settings and explore this unit...

Is this the update we saw recently that is supposed to fix the issues with the CMS? I would be PO'd big time if I bought the original version and they fix the original issues with a different projector released in the same year.

The broken CMS is the main reason I had to pass on the 9000. I already have an RS50 with a broken (never to be fixed) CMS.. 2 in 1 year would be too much.

Do you have calibration equipment? It sounds like this projector needs some work right out of the box.

Mits has been shipping the Advanced in Canada since this past May...

Ya i dont have Caibration equipment but will get In a friend that does have the equipment in to calibrate it

but will wait til i get the Zero Edge 1.4 Screen on the wall first...

The Mits Mount is made by Premier and it has a frame that goes around the projector then connects to the mount...

Is this your first 3D projector? you might want to pick up this particular title, Sammy's Adventure. it's one of the best 3D bluray i've seen yet (and i've seen them all)

Yes this is my First 3d Projector,
I am running it on the SI Black Diamond .8 which is not good for 3d
will be updating to the 1.4 Zero edge in 6 weeks and will then get the emitter and glasses going

Have a friend that is a Photographer so she will be coming over and I will post a few that we do..

So the advanced is just a software update or is it hardware. I've owned mine for only about 3 months and I will be very annoyed if they won't update mine so the CMS works.

Sorry guys but I dont think your units can be firmware updated

Sounds like a VP is the only solution if full CMS is wanted. I am sure that is not what early adopters want to hear, but some thing like the Lumagen Radiance Mini will solve the problem and give other benefits. Later buy a probe and calibration software and you then can have auto calibration. This would allow you to calibrate for best image every 100 hours which most would not be able to afford if hiring a pro.

We will contact Mits and find out whether a software update is available that will fix the problems or whether machines need to be sent in to a Mits service center to have hardware updates installed. Absent either of these, there are other possible solutions by Mits.

So glad i have the Advanced ...

Not really keen in laying out $ for a processor. If its quite a large hardware change I can't imagine they'll do it for free, if it can be done at all.

Fraisa, it has different screen aspect settings, and depending on your throw I guess you could zoom and refocus since it's all motorized ... I have a DIY prism lens and I'm quite happy with the unit

With a projector of this quality, you really should do a full calibration. I would look into DIY calibration using Chromapure and the X-Rite I1 Display Pro probe. That way you could calibrate it every 100 hours for not much more than the cost of one professional calibration. By the way, great looking projector. Can you even see the bars on a .8 BD screen?

Ya i cant see the bars on the .8 when the room is dark, infact i cant even see my wall when lights are out
Also with the new 1.4 G3 you wouldnt see the bars..

Thats the nice thing about black diamond and then also room stays dark not alot of light scatter back into the room

I think the chroma pure is the software side of the system...

Talked to various levels of engineering at Mits projector customer service today.

After going up several levels they acknowledged that the CMS was not working and that no fix has come forth from Japan.

There is indeed a running changing designated as the HC-9000D Advanced, but that designates an improved power supply not a revision to make the CMS work. Same situation obviously for Canada. If your power supply is fine, I would not send a unit in for that update.

Obviously, Mits is obligated to make the CMS fix whenever it becomes available under warranty, regardless of whether new innards are required.

I would start a case with Mits customer service noting that your CMS doesn't work and that you would like notification and an RMA when such fix becomes available. If they come out with a new machine this year with a working CMS then you can make the obvious suggestions to them about remedies.

Speaking as a consumer, its not like some other company that has a less than successful CMS that one can work with extraordinary effort and time. This one just doesn't work.

What about Cinema Settings?

I didn't talk to them about settings. What ia the issue?

Mark - thanks for the info on this projector. I was very close to considering it before grabbing the HW30. Without a pending CMS fix, it's a hard sell considering the cost. It would make more sense to grab an RS40/X3 at a much cheaper cost with similar IQ and throw in a lumagen mini 3D which would still be less than the 9000.

I hope mitsubishi has a knock out with the upcoming HC7800 to keep them in the FP market. These companies have to stop charging extra $$ for advertised features that don't work.
