Onkyo HT-S9100THX volume problem

i just got the Onkyo HT-S9100THX in today. i followed the instructions here on this website for setting up for the ps3 and i get dts-hd and 7.1 but i have another problem that i dont understand

the maximum i can turn the volume up to is +5 db. the instructions say that its supposed to go up to +18 db.

according to the troubleshooting guide in the manual, all my settings are correct regarding this problem.

i ran the calibration thing with the microphone twice.

any help i would appreciate alot

Re-read pg 87 of your manual under Volume Setup. Post back if that doesnt fix your issue.

Hi m51, what is the speaker trim levels set to after calibration?

IMO the best way is to purchase a SPL meter and manually configured the speakers.

im sorry i dont know what speaker trim levels are.

where can i find this?

edit - sorry if im supposed to be on a less technical forum. i just came here because i know that people here know what they are talking about.

also everything sounds great; blu rays and video games sound fantastic. im just bothered that the volume doesnt go up as high as they manual says that it should

How were you able to fix the maximum +5 issue? I have the same issue and I have run the auto calibration feature six times with the same result. I am not sure exactly what happened because my sound used to be almost twice as loud. I turn it up all of the way to +5 and it is not nearly as loud as it used to be. The maximum sound level was previously +18. Can anyone help?
