3D demo at BestBuy looks bad - whos the blame?

I finally got to witness 3d tv at bestbuy last week. It was a samsung on display, the picture looks amazing before i put the glasses on but not so good while wearing glasses. Picture seems darken and i can see lines going up and down a bit.

So is it normal that picture looks worst while wearing glasses?

The picture wearing the 3D glasses will certainly be not as bright with any of the 3D TVs (or in the theater for that matter). The other issue may be due to a poor setup of the equipment by BB. A less bright picture in itself does not mean its worse, especially for use under more appropriate lighting conditions in your home, as compared to the store showroom.

The TV looks weird if you watch 3D without the glasses in 3D mode. Maybe the glasses weren't powered on?

What I don't understant is how the MvA 3D BR disk looked amazing without the glases on. AFAIK it should have been full of ghosts.

Best Buy could have been playing the 2D version.

I don't think anyone could mistake a 3D movie as pleasing to the eye without the glasses.

lol yeah I had to laugh...sorry, but you must have been watching the "2D" version using the 3D glasses...it wasn't in 3D mode....that was funny.

I'm very familiar with that demo since I work in a Sears electronics dept. I agree that the set must have been in 2D mode. If it were in 3D mode it would have been virtually unwatchable without the glasses.

Be specific with topic titles, see my edit.

while you're at it, correct the grammer, it should be "3D demo at Bestbuy looks bad - who's to blame?"

This is not English 101, it is a forum. But since you broached the subject, didn't you mean grammar, with no letter "e"?

NO, by amazing i was talking about the color thats it. I know the difference between 3d and 2d lol.
So is it the glasses that create the flicker or bestbuy is too bright to view 3d since the glasses shut on and off all the time?

I would guess it's the lighting...

Fluorescent bulbs and the glasses do not mix, I had to change out my fluorescent bulbs at home to get rid of the flicker.
